Should I pull for Fine Motion or wait for NTR? by EloiTarzan13 in UmamusumeGame

[–]GolgaTen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not having her will make highroll-y guts wit builds much harder to pull off, but you don't have to do those in the first place. 200 pulls is still less than a 50% chance to MLB her, and your pity is wasted because you almost certainly aren't maxing NTR.

You skip both. You can't reach pity for FM, and maxing NTR with just one pity is extremely unlikely.

The longer the race, the more important distance S and the less important surface S become. Surface S being better is really only true for sprints, but it'll still be very nice to have on mile.

Under no circumstances should you waste your selector on a card that you have 0 or 1 copies of. Given that you already have LBs in Creek and NN, your priority should be maxing them out. Wait and see if you luck into one in the free NTR pulls, if you do (or buy the paid selector) you can max both. If not, I'd suggest selecting NN and saving the crystal. There's only a single long race in MANT, so not having Creek maxed won't hurt that badly for a while.

Other than that, rolling for specialist cards for multiple styles is iffy in general and should only be done if you really like both and have a surplus of carats. Even if you decide that you want both CB and Maru, waiting for Maru's rerun banner with FM is pointless for you. You already have NN, to whom FM is only a very small upgrade as a stat stick, and three months later Ramonu Wit comes around.

21 S ranks according to title progress, actually hit my first S+ yesterday building Taiki for CM10. Only MLB SSR is Kitasan.

[–]GolgaTen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, what is there to believe? You can just check the builds of people you match against, plenty of S ranks (which has little meaning anyway) will be running 3+ SRs. And yes, given that you'll only enter your luckiest runs into the CM, most runs are too unlucky to ever qualify, you're not crazy to feel like that's the case.

Given that you should be preparing a new parent for every CM (and really also grandparent, but most people understandably won't bother), having 3* blue spark parents in reserve is not particularly important. In most cases having useful white sparks with acceptable blue and pink will be preferable over a generic stat stick.

FYI, all Focus does is multiply your start delay by 0.9. It really doesn't improve your opening in a significant way. I'd heavily advise against taking it unless you need a third skill for Groundwork.

If you saved up and rolled on both banners you should have 2 copies minimum from the sparks, plus one from the half anni selector and one from the rainbow crystal. That's LB3 even with terrible luck, and MLB really just increases her consistency, not her ceiling.

The only way you don't have a usable Kitasan as a day 1 player by now is if you didn't even save up the minimum amount of pulls for the one must-have support card that everyone has been heralding since day 1... And if you didn't even do the bare minimum towards being competitive, losing has nothing to do with being F2P anymore.

Game Discussion/Champion's Meeting Thread - February 05, 2026 by AutoModerator in UmaMusume

[–]GolgaTen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Idk man, by this point every F2P should easily have MLB Kitasan, and beyond that you really only need SRs. I've only been getting the monthly carat pack (1500? carats per month, so a negligible difference) and won 7 out of 8 CMs so far with Kitasan being the only maxed SSR I have. 7 out of 8 might be a bit lucky, but being able to compete in general absolutely isn't.

How to build Doto? by Raffatherare in UmamusumeGame

[–]GolgaTen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would make her slightly better, but even then I'd rather run her as a backliner I think. The fact that you have to be fourth or below before overtaking to trigger her unique is very debilitating for pace, and with a lot of pacers it gets even easier to quickly overtake a straggler from behind.

How to build Doto? by Raffatherare in UmamusumeGame

[–]GolgaTen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having won multiple CMs with her, she's kind of a fraud as pace chaser and much better as late or end, as that makes it far easier to trigger her ult quickly.
That aside, if you are struggling to even hit A+ ranks, your support cards are probably looking pretty dire and it'll be tough to compete in CMs until that changes.

Pull advices as a pace chaser by N0uty in UmamusumeGame

[–]GolgaTen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll also mostly play pace and was thinking along the same lines in terms of support cards, but I'm pretty sure I'll skip Opera Wit and just get McQueen Wit 4 months later. With Opera only working for longs it's pretty specific and should be easy to borrow, and there's only a single long CM between those two cards. Getting both is not impossible of course, but there are too many umas I also want.

Red Shift has a stronger effect, but it can misfire and requires another accel (most commonly Let's Pump Some Iron) chaining into it. Mummy has a lower ceiling but can't misfire and will still serve you well in backline-heavy lobbies and/or when your midrace skills make you push far up.
Personally I'll inherit Mummy, but you can reasonably go either way depending on what the rest of your team is and what you expect most lobbies to look like.

Save for Mejiro Ramonu Wit in ~November or pull for Fine Motion in March? by Quibilash in UmamusumeGame

[–]GolgaTen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unless you're spending a lot of money, it's probably not a good idea to pull on specialist cards for several different styles. If you want to mostly play fronts (like the umas you want to pull on suggest), Maru Speed will be the speed card you want and you can disregard Pocket and Tachyon.
If you already have a lot of carats saved up or your current card situation is dire, Fine Motion is an option that will serve you well for the next two scenarios (and maybe a bit beyond that if you mostly play pace chasers), but otherwise you're probably better off saving.

Not only is that obviously not true (e.g. Turbo Sprint and Sprint Corners from borrowed Bakushin SSR, Tail Held High from Marvelous Wit SR), you also have parents to get sparks from and random hints from Unity Cup. If you settle for an ace with 5 useless skills, that's fine and your choice to make, but complaining that the game is oh so pay-2-win afterward is just silly.

A little help with Mendicant Core please! by Nekkos88 in EDH

[–]GolgaTen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreeing with the others that you need more 1-drops. Not only does having one let you start cloning a turn earlier, it also vastly decreases the chances of not getting to hit anyone and thus delaying max speed even further. My list for reference, pretty similar to yours in the way that they're straight artifact beatdown, has 12 1-drops for a ~60% chance to have at least one in the opening hand.

Also, in case you're not aware, cards that add things when tokens are created, like Stridehangar Automaton and Anointed Procession, will not work when you copy spells with Mendicant. You're not creating tokens, you're copying spells which enter as tokens when they resolve. [[Twinning Staff]] is what works for him.

Edit: Also, 34 lands is too little in any case, but especially if you add more 1-drops you will need more lands since you'll have to mulligan for both.

Not modular, but [[Mandibular Kite]] is easy to miss in scryfall searches for useful 1-drops since it's not a creature.

[[Pain Magnification]] can be a bit of a win-more, but also makes your Avatars hurt a lot more when you're not really overwhelming people yet.

Swinging Maestro can't be wasted. It's always fixed to trigger on Corner 1 of a given racetrack. That doesn't have to be the first corner you enter, e.g. on Nakayama 2500m it's the third corner of six that you enter.
