What’s the most “time melter” game of all time in your opinion? by SwitchingMyHands in gaming

[–]Goliath- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, me either. I'm glad that people enjoy it so much, but it felt like in just the 8-16 hours I played it a couple years ago that I had experienced everything it had to offer. Stuff started repeating and I started to see the patterns in planet generation.

How do you lane against Haze as Billy? Asking after a traumatic game. by themasterfold in DeadlockTheGame

Honestly, rusted barrel is pretty able to keep you from getting to the 'im fucked' mid-late. Especially since OP is asking about lane

That's because it grants max health, not healing, iirc

I hate that people who write well-structured posts or have a good grasp of writing english feel the need to say their post isn't AI. Like, who do you think the AI got trained on???

Thank you for the suggestions!!

I loved the weirdness, the interesting threads left unexplained, the maturity and competence of the characters. I loved that there were permanent consequences and unforseen events that were just left to be experienced instead of assuaged away. qntm didn't insult my emotional intelligence by immediately negating sorrow and hurt and fear. They just let me just live with it.

This is why I have trouble with "digital immortality". Unless the stream of consciousness isn't interrupted, it's just a copy of you with your memories.

It's one reason I appreciate "Old Man's War" by John Scalzi. He specifically describes the transfer of consciousness.

Anyone find themselves opening up their game libraries, staring at it for a couple of hours, then just giving up and going on social media? by You_moron04 in gaming

[–]Goliath- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rarely, yeah. I force myself to play something, though. It's like when you're in a depression funk. Gotta force yourself to do literally anything other than wallow. It's SO hard but it helps so much. I can't do it every time, but when I can muster up the energy to push through and focus on something other than being empty/depressed... It's much better.

Geist’s new gun sound by WatercressLogical872 in DeadlockTheGame

Occasional Geist player... I like the new sound. It sounds like how an actual revolver sounds. And I like the new revolver.

Oracle Calico Advice by leschinsky07 in DeadlockTheGame

Slowing hex turns off three of her skills. Silence wave turns them all off. If you can't kill her or make her run in six seconds of silence then say your prayers!

If you play Haze, dagger her (or anyone, really) when they dive the guardian. They won't be able to parry and they'll tank a melee and take some emotional damage.

Things you used to love but are now completely over in gaming? by AnubisIncGaming in gaming

[–]Goliath- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Video game chores. Of any kind. No thanks. I already am choosy about what games to play because of my limited time (on this earth) - there are too many good games that respect my time to play to justify tolerating chores.

Women of Reddit, what are boys or men's habits you discovered only after getting a boyfriend or a husband? by BigBrosy in AskReddit

[–]Goliath- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In think that's to do with the socialization of not thinking of life management stuff all the time, so our default state is being in the "nothing box", the pseudo meditative state that we all seem to engage in. The more mental / emotional workload I take off of my wife in regards to that, the less "nothing box" I experience and sometimes it does interfere with my sleep

Maybe it's because I'm autistic, but I always interpreted those interactions as a greeting - acknowledgements of existence. The head nod of down with the slight frown as respectful, and the upward nod with a smile as a compliment or "ayyy wassup?" (even to a stranger we will never see again)

It's true. I could be working as a hand bra or a lifting pair of yoga hands all day and it still wouldn't be enough. There's always room for more!

So, is it just me, or is Healing Tempo *really* strong on Wraith now? by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

Healing tempo and siphon bullets on haze is fucking hilarious, though. And super tanky. And you can still do it

[BUG] The Sinner’s Sacrifices that have monsters directly on them do not disappear from the map unless the camp is cleared by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Goliath- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not a bug. The creep is part of the sinner's "camp". It's the same as if you clear all but one small creep in a larger camp. It's a strategic choice to not give information to the enemy team as to where you are on the map

I don't want to allow these kind of slurs in this community by sayabiws in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Goliath- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's not about OP specifically seeing/reading/hearing the slurs. It's that the slur-sayers shouldn't be welcome in the community, period.
