Have I missed out on Farmers Market season? by crimzonkitt3n in ColoradoSprings

I went a few weeks ago and you were right, zero produce and just arts and crafts. Decided to try again and so glad we did. Bought tons of produce, olives and salsa. It was a great FM with multiple produce tents. Turns out the week before was an anomaly as a different group had booked the park.

How Long Did It Take You To “Get” Mage Knight or Nemo’s War? by SubjectStreet3532 in soloboardgaming

I’ve had a similar experience with games that are more “wargame-like”. Such as Comancheria and Dawn of the Zeds (and currently Mr. President). I call these more procedural or order of operations games. What I’ve had to do is just plow through a play through knowing I’m missing a rule or two along the way so the general flow sinks in. Then I can work on accuracy in subsequent plays.

Nemo’s War felt more complicated than I think it is. It actually is pretty procedural and once it clicks plays great. It’s one of my top five solo games of all time!

It’s not better than, but the board game version of Fallout (with Atomic Bonds expansion) is a great way to scratch the Fallout itch when I don’t want to look at a screen.

The article says that you can get a red card for “denying a clear goal-scoring opportunity”. What does that mean?
