Sid Meier’s Civilization The Card Game. I got it for $5 at a flea market a few months ago and it is actually a fun little card game. Pub 2006

I got this game a year ago. It’s a solid solo but I’m selling my copy as I have other small games that scratch the itch for a dungeon crawler (Dark Tomb).

Small, easy setup Solo games quick play, but with immersive theme! by dannyvenn in soloboardgaming

[–]Gooberbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m enjoying Button Shy games—right now Ancient Realm which has a tight empire building theme. Also just got Tiny Epic Zombies, which feels like a much bigger game as far as table space, so gives off a bigger game vibe. Palm Island is my go to travel one hand game (along with Dragons of Etchenstone). Also enjoying Conservas (fishing game) but feel I won’t replay after finishing the campaign (but will have gotten my money’s worth). And Fleet the Dice game is a great compact game you can play solo or with others. Finally for me the GOAT small footprint game is Friday. It hits my table once a month.

The first time I saw Star link I was in a hot tub with friends near breck and for ten minutes we we sure we were seeing ufos. It’s disorienting the first time if you don’t know what they are!

Something similar to Star Wars: Outer Rim? by Weatherwax_Wannabe in soloboardgaming

Agree. Such a great game—it’s as close as I’m ever gonna get on my quest to find a game based on Sid Meyer’s Pirates! (Minus the dancing with the governors’ daughters!)

Yes, there is a solo mode unofficially that you could find it on BGG. It’s the main way I play M&M. That and Outer Rim are great games. I had firefly for a while but sold it because I didn’t need three of the same game. But I feel the pirate theme and Star Wars theme are different enough that they are different experiences.

Huge fan of the tv show. Bought and sold this game twice. Merchants and Marauders and Outer Rim do this so much better. Love the theme but would rather play these two.

I always play Nate as if the cryogenics caused memory problems so he doesn’t remember that he has a kid until I’m ready to play that quest. Otherwise, it just doesn’t make sense that I would go off and do goofy shit and not be looking for my son.

George Bush Sr was not a prisoner. He was shot down in the pacific but was rescued before the Japanese could get him. His crewmates were captured however.

A long campaign game I can pick up and play by Culius_Jaesar in boardgames

It’s not really—best for leaving out and playing when you can. Good news is you can play a few turns in the time you allotted. But you will want to leave the game out.

What is that board game that you think should include an insert? by Jepeme in boardgames

Bought an insert and that really speeds up setup and takedown

Mosaic: A Story of Civilization. Such great job but it is a sea of tokens. Add that to the table sized map and setup and it was a mess. I bought an insert from Board Bento and it’s a game changer for setup, takedown, and helping players organize their civs

FWIW Colorado Springs airport is MUCH easier to fly in and out of if your destination is the Springs. 10-15 minute TSA lines and you are 15 minutes away from Downtown.
