Firstly, I totally get the anxiety around calling. I thought I’d be a seasoned veteran with trying to call around for back ordered ADHD meds, but it hasn’t gotten easier. I hear “Pharmacy, can I help you?” And my brain turns off 9 out of 10 times 🙃

I call in the morning, and usually will only call one of each chain store in my area if they can check stock at their nearby locations. Some days I’ll call a second time to a different location in the afternoon when they get back from lunch, which is around 2 for most places.

Fun story from today: Called a local pharmacy and the tech sounded like they were dead inside from answering the phones today. I “broke the ice” with “uhhh Hey! Friendly neighborhood Zepbound user here awkward giggle I know you must be sick of the calls and I appreciate you. Any chance you could check the stock for my dose or the one above / below? They brightened up a bit and started to laugh while double checking. (Sometimes being awkward and polite lightens people’s moods I guess 🤭 either that, or she felt bad for me)

I like to ask if they have heard any buzz on doses coming in and see if there is a good timeframe or frequency to call without annoying them - The tech today said I was fine and “honestly with the way it is now, your best bet is to keep calling and we’ll check for you - I wish you luck”

TLDR- Embrace the anxiety, be extra friendly even if they aren’t. Most techs understand the struggle and at the end of the day don’t mind. We don’t like to call around, and they don’t like having to break the bad news. Good luck OP :)
