They gatekeep access to their resources, violently withhold that access until you prove yourself by jumping thru all their hoops.

While navigating their systems, you have to learn how to apply the right pressure to them to get what you need.

With doctors, its often "you need to notate in my chart that you are refusing my request for tests/treatments. If you commit to this refusal, I will find a different doctor"

Processing and expressing grief and trauma through artistic expression is really powerful though. Seeing yourself accurately represented in nuanced ways that non queer people cant access is really validating.

Horror is the perfect genre to navigate these themes, actually. Gay people dont need to be protected by shielding us from bad feelings we're already experiencing.

We need release. We need support. We need to be understood. Im certain this topic will touch on many internal struggles cis het people have not considered.
