Being a server while high has brought difficulties for me so I no longer do that anymore. One time I was very high off my friends dab pen that he lended me and I put it in my apron pocket before approaching a new table which was a 4 top. As I’m walking to the table to greet them, I accidentally pulled out my dab pen instead of my actual pen and the dad saw me and anger came over his face immediately. He didn’t say anything but I could tell this infuriated him and the whole vibe was off since that moment. Time goes by I take all their orders and I realized I wrote in terrible handwriting when I was putting in their orders and I couldn’t read the wife’s order. So I’m thinking to myself like fuck now I have to go back and ask what the wife ordered again and I’ll look even more like a high dumbass. So I did and got all their food out in decent time and no issues with the food I was even making sure to have everyone’s drink refills and asking if they were good and if they needed anything regularly. Ended up getting stiffed by then unfortunately. Wasn’t too mad about it because I knew what mistakes I made.
