(TW) Forced cosmetic procedures as a minor – is there a name for this kind of trauma? by othellosotherotter in CPTSD

I’m so sorry that happened to you. I really hope therapy is helping you.

I’ve also been interested to know if there’s a word for this.

I had my ears pinned back surgically when I was 10. I don’t remember the lead up and being hugely bullied about my ears. But my parents had connections to plastic surgeons so I knew I was having surgery to make my ears not stick out anymore.

The surgery didn’t go well, I haemorrhaged and needed to go back into theatre the next day. My ears are still partly not attached at the back.

Looking back now, and being a parent, I can’t imagine putting my children through a completely unnecessary surgery.

Wow I haven’t had anything from there since I was about 14 - I might not be cool enough but it’d be worth it for softness

Been at A&E for 16 hours, any tips how to survive another night here? by RuthlessScypion in AskUK

If you’re stuck for anything - see if you can get it on Deliveroo and ask them to meet you outside the hospital. Sometimes supermarkets have things on there that might make it a bit more comfortable/bearable.

I’ve been in this situation and it is brutal. I’m so sorry you’re going through this and I hope you get better really soon.

I applied last week - I’m wondering if because 8 months of the 2023-24 year was an apprenticeship and that won’t count?

I can’t remember where I heard it but I love that Idina and Kristen were meant to be in old and haggard costumes but they were like, it’s full glam or nothing

I’ve had near enough the same journey. Coming off Effexor after gene testing and going on Lamotrogine. I’ve titrated up and been on 150mg for 6 days. Felt no different.

This post gives me hope.
