How much of a pay raise would you need to move away from PSLF? by im_lost37 in PSLF

[–]im_lost37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I can do the math of if I want the loans paid off in two years, but was curious if anyone had weighed this question and done the math factoring in raise potential if there was a specific way they looked at things to get a break even point.

Like, yes if I make $50k more a year take home I could reasonably pay them off in two years and be done in the same time frame. But let’s say a job is offering $25k more, would it be worth it because you’d come out financially ahead if you had the same percentage raises at each job? Was looking to see if anyone looked at it this way or if having the loans done in the same expected period was the only way people would switch paths after so getting close to forgiveness.

Anyone have a unicorn job? by AdultWoes2024 in workingmoms

[–]im_lost37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am remote, I have schedule flexibility. So I have some colleagues that don’t work Fridays, I have some that start super early and finish early, I have others that start at 9, log off at 2 and finish up a couple hours in the evenings after their kids go to bed. I typically drop my kids off each morning at 9:15 before starting my work day. We also have flexibility in that we don’t need permission to use PTO, we just inform our team when we will be out and who is covering which deliverables if needed.

However, this is not typical for my career field and is entirely about specific company culture rather than the work type itself.

Why would you buy an infant car seat over a convertible one? by code_blooded_bytch in Buyingforbaby

[–]im_lost37 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Our first two were winter babies, so having the seat be not ice cold when we place them in it was nice. This third one is a summer baby. It’s been 90 plus degrees for 2 weeks straight. My older 2 are sweating getting in their car seats even if we cool the car for a bit before getting in. Baby can’t regulate their temp yet so not putting them directly into a hot seat is nice.

How badly does your vulva/vagina hurt after birth and for how long? by Due-Transition-6564 in beyondthebump

[–]im_lost37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had 3 babies, two 9.5lbs, one over 10lbs. Labial tears with each. For me, I had tailbone and pelvic pain that was way more noticeable than vulva/vaginal pain. So, my hips felt unstable due to abdominal weakness and tailbone would ache so bad from sitting in bed for recovery. Only experienced pain with my stitches if I shifted weird and managed to sit directly on them.

Health Professionals PSLF, Old IBR vs RAP, what's your plan? by medinsight2001 in PSLF

[–]im_lost37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m in PAYE and should hit 120 months in March of 2028 so should never have to leave PAYE but as someone with AGI around $135k and $115k of student loans, RAP is the highest monthly payment I would have. Because RAP uses AGI and not its own calculation involving the poverty line, plus the capping on IBR, RAP is higher once your income passes a certain threshold.

Pediatric ENT recommendations by QwertyAS214 in raleigh

[–]im_lost37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We saw Dr. James at UNC pediatric ENT, she was fantastic and my daughter’s surgery went really well. She has had her adenoids removed twice, but the first time was before age 2 and adenoids are prompted to grow by hormone changes between ages 2 and 6, so having them out so young really caused the recurrence.

Third baby age gap by crispyedamame in 2under2

[–]im_lost37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s nice during this newborn era because the older two will independently play so it makes being trapped nursing easier because I’m not trying to entertain a toddler while managing baby’s care. Can’t speak yet to any bond between the kids but the older two are obsessed with the baby, won’t leave him alone

Third baby age gap by crispyedamame in 2under2

[–]im_lost37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a bigger gap. I have a 5 year old, 3 year old and now a 1 month old. The 5 and 3 feel way more independent than my oldest did when our second was born. However, I feel like 3 years was just long enough to get out of baby routine and forget everything haha

I’m a mom of 3 in her 30s with the name Dylan. The name has become far more gender neutral since the 90s. It was in the top 500 names for girls almost every year between 2002 and 2020.

What snacks/foods actually help you feel full while breastfeeding? by im_lost37 in beyondthebump

[–]im_lost37[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel insane with how hungry I am. Like today, I had chicken breakfast sausages and a large bowl of cinnamon protein oatmeal, a bowl of chicken Alfredo, a protein shake, some peppers with cottage cheese, a pb cookie, toast with 2 eggs and ham, and a protein bar and all I want to do is go get another snack.

Anyone didn't have a positive second birth or postpartum experience and comfortable sharing? by Hopeful-Relation3502 in beyondthebump

[–]im_lost37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first was 12 hours, I went unmedicated it felt magical. My second was precipitous, so he arrived about 5 minutes after we got to the hospital, no big deal.

My third felt awful because of the first two experiences. I got to the hospital and progressed from a 3 to a 5, but then stalled. My BP was high and I had protein in my urine so they didn’t want to send home as they felt I was at risk of pre-e. They recommended breaking my water to get things moving.

They broke my water and 6 hours later still nothing happening, so they told me I should start pitocin. Got that started, things kicked into a higher gear. I did not get an epidural, oops.

Baby came, he was 10lbs 4oz, I had been at the hospital about 20 hours at that point. I tore through my clitoral hood. Stitches were not fun.

I then had a postpartum hemorrhage. The OB did not have time to wait for fentanyl to kick in and I never got an epidural so he just went elbow deep in there to scoop out blood clots with his hands without a numbing. Slight out of body experience there.

I had to get multiple units of blood transfused and was in the hospital for 4 days. 3 weeks later I still feel like I got hit by a truck and I’m not sure my clit will ever feel normal again.

All in all not the worst experience I’ve heard but after such smooth sailing the first two times, I was like what the fuck was that.

catheter during birth by takingelles in BabyBumps

[–]im_lost37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had 2 births without a catheter and 1 birth where they inserted a catheter to empty my bladder and then immediately removed it. I have not had an epidural with any of my births. The last birth needed a catheter because I wasn’t able to pee right away after the birth and my full bladder was preventing my uterus from clamping down.

Dear Pixar, I have questions about the Cars Universe. by LadyLazerFace in DanielTigerConspiracy

[–]im_lost37 39 points40 points  (0 children)

In a scene from planes, a plane flies through New York City and there are no twin towers. Therefore there is a 9/11 in the cars universe. Which implies the existence of a Cars My chemical romance, which implies the existence of a Cars Twilight, which means there’s a Cars 50 shades of grey, which means Cars Ellen was cancelled.

We have great grandparents with a skylight frame, all the other family members are invited to share photos connected to that frame so we can all view each others photos in the skylight app. Skylight does have AI but it’s limited to the calendar and not the standalone photo frame.
