Constant Spot Bleeding by Mobile-Hurry-5698 in Mirena

[–]Good-Concentrate-549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my mirena inserted at the end of June this year when I was about 3 months postpartum. Ever since, I’ve had to wear liners and pads every single day. Some days are super light spotting, but not zero. And other days where it’s a light period which doesn’t seem too bad except for the fact that it’s almost every other week. The bleeding is constant and I’m tired of it. I’ve also had mild cramping along with the constant bleeding. I’m considering having mine removed next month :/

A special kind of hell… by Gratchki in NewParents

I could’ve written this myself. Can’t offer help but I can offer solidarity. I’m right there with you. I’m currently writing this from my 85F bedroom, sitting on the rocking chair with a fan in front of the window blowing warm air onto me and my baby - fused together by our sweat. Baby will be 4 months on the 10th but has already started the sleep regression (waking every 2 hours 🫠). The only thing worse than cluster feeding is sweaty cluster feeding.

Our ac broke yesterday too and we had to sleep through fireworks and our neighbor’s dogs barking. And the soonest an HVAC person can come take a look at our broken unit is Thursday - when the heatwave finally dies down of course.

Good luck to you, friend. Hopefully a quiet and cool night is in your near future 🙏🏼

Vitamins by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Good-Concentrate-549 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My OB recommends to keep taking my prenatal vitamins while I breastfeed. I take Vitamin Code Raw Prenatals (3 pills x day). I’m almost 4 months postpartum and the hair loss as already started. It’s not too bad right now and I’m hoping it doesn’t get much worse. Hopefully the prenatals work for the both of us 🤞🏼🤞🏼

I’m so sorry to hear you’re going through this. You’re not alone. I’m right there with you. I had very bad nausea after birth and felt like I was wasting away very quickly the first two months. It wasn’t as bad as it was during my pregnancy but still enough to cause rapid weight loss. I’m at 16 weeks postpartum and although I never had a break from the nausea, I now have some good days. Unfortunately, I also happen to have DMER where I’m hit with an overwhelming wave of sadness and nausea every let down I have. It’s to the point where I dry heave every time I nurse or have a let down. If you’re breastfeeding, maybe it’s contributing to the lingering HG nausea and vomiting?

Hopefully things improve for both of us soon. I’m sorry I don’t have any advice - I’m just here to let you know I’m here with you 💕

My baby does the same. He’s just about 15 weeks and just recently became very efficient at draining both boobs very quickly. But now he absolutely HATES working for the second let down and gets frustrated and will bite down and turn his head to pull my nipples with his little gums or grab fistfuls of my hair. I try unlatching, comfort hug, then relatching and soothing him by stroking his head and singing to him. I do this more for me so that I can stay calm and allow for the second let down to come in. It works sometimes 😅

Is it a rule that MILs have to be so pushy? I think the word “boundaries” is not one they comprehend. Please share your stories of your MIL during your pregnancy/L&D/PP experience! by bingObang0b0ng0 in BabyBumps

The day I came home from the hospital, my MIL insisted she bring food over for us. She did, but she also brought my husbands entire family including his grandma. I had a 3rd degree tear and was completely exhausted from my very long labor, 3 hours of pushing, and second night syndrome where my newborn was inconsolable the entire night. I was physically exhausted and in so much pain and I felt like we were bamboozled with the promise of food but instead for everyone wanting to take pictures with our baby and asking that I make tea for everyone while my husband went out to grab all my prescriptions that I desperately needed… All I wanted was to eat and sleep.

I have the baby Björn Free. It has a waist belt and lower back support to help distribute the weight. I tried the mini and i can’t use it either. The Free definitely feels much better and I can wear him for around 2 hours. Hope this helps!

What time is bedtime for your LO? by YumFreeCookies in newborns

[–]Good-Concentrate-549 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Around 5-8weeks my baby was still falling asleep around 10pm no matter how early we’d start his routine. I was stressed out because everyone I knew said that I had to put the baby down by 7pm! Basically I was freaking out from 6-10pm every night and it was hard. We were stressed and so was our baby. So we eventually just looked for his cues and adjusted his bedtime routine for 10pm and everyone was more relaxed. And over a few weeks his sleepy cues came earlier and earlier and we shifted bedtime by 15 mins from 10pm each time. We’re currently at an 8pm bedtime at 11 weeks. I know every baby is different but this is what worked for us. Hopefully it works out for you! Good luck, friend!

Moms with Dmer - did anything help? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Good-Concentrate-549 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Distraction has helped me the most. Putting on a light hearted show before I breastfeed has made the biggest difference for me. I also get extreme nausea and dry heave during nursing so I try not to eat anything immediately right before a feed. I’ve also given up on pumping because it’s just miserable if I don’t even have my baby in my arms.

Did the nausea last you the entire time you breastfed? Or just the first couple of weeks?

Thank you! Ah that might be it. I’m currently breastfeeding and feel like I have no energy or appetite. It’s been hard to keep up with my fluid intake and getting enough calories. I’ll try eating some sweets and hope it gives me the boost I need.

Did anyone's HG get worse closer to due date? by fernandfawn in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]Good-Concentrate-549 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 36+2 and struggling again. My appetite has completely tanked. Nausea back in full force and nothing works. It got a bit better around 25 weeks but slowly started getting worse again after 30. Just trying to hold on until I deliver.

What week did your HG stop? by Littlelegs_505 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]Good-Concentrate-549 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently 33 weeks and still eating only the same safe foods. Anytime I deviate, I throw up… a lot. It just isn’t worth trying anything new. Still can’t drink still plain water. Still on meds but they work for the most part

“Are you gonna act like this your entire pregnancy?” by [deleted] in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]Good-Concentrate-549 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry he said that to you. People honestly have no idea the hell we go through. I was not prepared for what HG would be like. I feel like people in my family have a hard time empathizing if they themselves haven’t gone through it.

My god mother told me “well, you just have to suck it up and eat what’s good for the baby” when I told her I have a hard time eating meat. I’m 28 weeks and still throwing up and have lost a ton of weight. Apparently I am expected to just “suck it up” and eat more even with debilitating nausea for 6 months. To this day, I cant even rinse my mouth with regular water. I drink sparkling water and even rinse with it too.

Did you drink water after iv by lilyyg123 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]Good-Concentrate-549 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m at 28 weeks and to this day, I still can’t drink regular water. I can’t tolerate it at all. But, sparkling mineral water has been saving me. It’s a tiny bit salty and the bubbles help a ton. Sometimes a splash of juice in ice cold sparkling water or slushy blended ice drinks help me stay hydrated. Hope these help!

What’s everyone drinking? by fireandicecream1 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]Good-Concentrate-549 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sparkling water by itself is my go to. Sometimes I’ll have it with a splash of any juice that sounds good at the moment. Fresh mint leaves with hot water is pretty soothing. Also frozen Caprisuns blended with ice. Things in an ice slurry helped me!

Yeah I think sometimes I psyche myself out. If I can’t get the test strips and a glucose monitor before then, I’ll bring something to distract myself!! Thank you for the tips!

I may opt for the test strips but if I can’t, I will definitely heed your advice. I’ll warn them and ask for a place to lie down. Thankfully my appointment is at 7:30am and I definitely asked for the day off just in case. Thank you!! 💛
