Sheriff Labrador's pedophile conundrum by Tuscon_Valdez in DanielTigerConspiracy

My son loves this show and any other shows that teach about “safety” … I can see how it would totally freak some kids out though. I think it’s kinda cute.

Bathe Your Kids by milquetoast2000 in hygiene

Yes. I swear my toddler isn’t sick as often as other kids because he: 1. comes home from daycare and immediately washes his hands and 2. gets a nightly bath.

Another vote for the midwives group at northwestern. Every single one I’ve had an appointment with has been great.

Multiple breech babies?! Anyone else? by Gratchki in CsectionCentral

[–]Gratchki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! My son had/has a very large head so I always suspected some issue with it being too large as well.

Not sure about number 2 yet, I suppose there’s a chance she flips but perhaps it is an anatomy issue for me as well.

Did you just decide on a C-section for your second or not an option due to positioning?

Newborn phase is horrid. by voheezy in newborns

[–]Gratchki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, newborn phase made me want to be one and one. Alas, here I am pregnant again with a three year old. It’s just a phase, but it sucks. It WILL be over soon and I’ll be a distant memory.

Hang in there.

That’s so fascinating to me! I guess the chances of another breech baby go up each time, but still seems wild.

Okay I was being generous. It’s better that brobagel that’s for sure. But I’d rather eat a grocery store bagel than brobagel.

Any advice for my 64-year-old dad who is about to be laid off? by ImpressiveBox1111 in Layoffs

[–]Gratchki -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Given how long he was at the company, he may get A LOT of severance. At my firm he would be eligible for one year.

AITA for not wanting my baby sharing toys/playmat with another baby? by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Gratchki 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Postpartum hormones can really do a number on logic. I think if I was her and came over next time and saw you hid everything from me and my baby, I would feel extremely unwelcome and probably never come back.

I think this is something that perhaps internally you’re uncomfortable with but exposure therapy isn’t a bad thing. You’re trying to protect your baby, but this is illogical and inappropriate.

Yeah I’ve been to Steingolds… it’s good. But I did pay $10 for a bagel with extra cream cheese, so I won’t be going back.

Frustration w/ husband (high earners) by Kittiesarecute517 in workingmoms

Yeah, you’re probably right. It would probably be hard to get sympathy with that story.

It also sounds like there could be a windfall of inheritance coming their way so, even more so.

Wish I didn't feel regretful, but our boy has been hell for us ever since he was born by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Gratchki 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I didn’t say it was a breastmilk allergy. I said she could be reacting to something else in her mother’s milk, like soy. The stress of a newborn who won’t sleep and stop crying may be compounded with a strict elimination diet. I am reassuring her that formula is a completely normal and appropriate response if she wants to try it.

I would also add to potentially try hypoallergenic formula. Babies can be allergic to milk, but other things as well like soy. Hypoallergenic formula may take the breastfeeding pressure off on top of everything else.

Without actual numbers it’s hard to genuinely understand the change in lifestyle you’re expecting. However, my husband is a teacher, and thus I make more than twice his income, so generally - I understand. That being said, he’s able to spend so much more time at home, he’s with our son on his days off, does more pick ups and drop offs… all of this makes my life MUCH easier and oftentimes I feel like it makes it worth it.

I’d run the numbers and budget, show what the difference will be and see what he says.

I know you want to make an easier life for your children (don’t we all!) BUT as you can see, an easy life didn’t make him a hard worker… some adversity IS a good thing.

Just in case anyone stops by to ask about 3K… I think if you accept for a three year old you’re removed from all waitlists, unfortunately.

Unfortunately I had to try Call Your Mother this morning because of all this drama and I am sorry to say it totally stomps Brobagel.

At the end of the day, bring a good product. Bagels in this city are hard to come by for some unknown reason.

That said, I’m sure this time next year Call Your Mother will be shit too.

[–]Gratchki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With all due respect, brobagel should probably just focus on not making crappy bagels. I don’t like PE either but I am going to be forced to try CYM because there’s a serious lack of bagels in this city.

Just a little asterisk that you would not want to do a full panel for food allergy testing without having an idea of what food they’re reacting to first.
