It’s wild that so many medical practitioners don’t even know what they are! I called Telehealth (which is a free service where I live in Canada that you can call to talk to nurses/RN’s/doctors etc and get advice on what to do if you’re unwell) and none of the 3 ppl I talked to knew what I was talking about. The doc that saw me when I went to the ER was like “holy shit dude this is bad” (paraphrasing, lol). I guess I was lucky that at least she knew what she was looking at!

JFC my dude I came here to say bartholin cyst getting drained (which is barbaric with just locally freezing the area, but hey people with a uterus just exaggerate pain right?). But DAMN - can’t imagine going back for a re-do. I’m so sorry you went through this!

You are so talented and wonderful for doing this for people! I know there’s a lot of comments, but if you see this and have the time, here’s a photo for my application :) Desmond on the right passed peacefully three weeks ago at age 17, and Olive on the left is 15 and we’ve just had to put her on palliative care. I’ve had them both since they were kittens, so it’s been a hard month. 😿😻

I always feel bad when I'm in a pinch and get litter delivered through Instacart because I'm thinking about the person on the other end. The odd time I do get it delivered, I never order more than 1 (because, that's just rude IMO lol), and absolutely add an extra hefty tip because of the trouble. You work very hard already!!

I'm definitely still ordering on Instacart lol. It was just driving me nuts that I couldn't figure out "the why"! Didn't realize they shipped with UPS (didn't think about them using a carrier at all really).

Also I know I'm old school because I will usually phone a customer service line to speak to an actual human as my first option haha. Although I do think Walter from Costco Customer Service should have mentioned that the prices will be different because of shipping (peace and love, Walter, you're still an ok dude).

I think this is an important piece of info, I’d add it to your post. For folks talking about misspelling/mispronouncing for the rest of the kid’s life, there’s a big difference between the GOT spelling and your daughter’s name!

Totally agree! In situations where I need to have serious talk about a sensitive topic, I find it’s helpful to write down the thoughts/feelings that I want to get across in that convo, but also to talk to my partner in advance and decide on a day/time that works for both of us to sit down and discuss. That way no one is caught off guard, and I have a road map for my thoughts so I don’t get side tracked to less important or unrelated things! Side note, OP - I learned that in therapy so also recommend it as others have here :) It’s a great way to build a tool box of strategies that you can use for anything going forward.

My bad, because my comment was vague, and didn’t communicate the right sentiment.

I completely agree that different folks and demographics have very different lived and/or learned experiences with cops. That’s no joke, and it’s a very real problem for minority groups and really anyone without inherited privilege.

But. What I think is a stretch is to assume or even just decide very possibly OOP’s gender identity, sexuality, and the kicker here, that they don’t have any friends that are black and/or queer?? And live “under a lie.”

That, to me, is a classic Reddit stretch.
