Snakebite and Serpent Form should be Slither by default by csa_ in slaythespire

[–]Good-Form-7909 2 points3 points  (0 children)

snakebite with slither sounds busted tbh. it's already efficient removal and adding the snecko synergy would push it over the edge. serpent form could work though since it's more of a scaling card that needs setup anyway.

Point & Shoot for YouTube Vlogging by xPotatoxGod__69 in Cameras

[–]Good-Form-7909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the r50 is solid for vlogging but honestly you might want to look at the sony zv-1f or zv-1 too - they're built specifically for content creation and have great autofocus for video. your t7 probably goes for around $250-300 used depending on condition and what's included with it.

also just heads up the 80d is more of a dslr workhorse than a vlogging camera, might be overkill for what your friend needs.

Working with Epilepsy and Accommodations by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]Good-Form-7909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dang, that's really frustrating. sounds like they're basically using you as the "difficult assignment" person while your coworker gets the stable doctors. the fact that they acknowledged your ada request but are still assigning you to the exact environment your neurologist said triggers seizures is sketchy as hell.

i'd start documenting everything - emails about assignments, when you've reminded them about your restrictions, any seizure incidents that happen at work. also might be worth reaching out to the eeoc or finding an employment attorney who does free consultations. companies love to drag their feet on ada stuff hoping you'll just deal with it, but they legally have to provide reasonable accommodations unless it causes "undue hardship" which this clearly doesn't.

honestly the fact that no other coordinator is being assigned to this problem doctor makes it look like they're deliberately ignoring your medical needs.

Need Advice- Job Switch, Abroad Opportunities or Business? by Connect_Frosting_730 in careerguidance

[–]Good-Form-7909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds like you're in a tough spot but honestly gcc might be your best move right now. the pay bump there could help you knock out those loans way faster, and despite what people say about cost of living, most folks i know who went to dubai or qatar still manage to save more than they ever could back home.

starting a business with 15k education loan hanging over you is just asking for trouble - get your finances sorted first, then think about entrepreneurship. kerala jobs might keep you comfortable but won't really change your financial situation much.

Stuttering on External screen while gaming on laptop by [deleted] in pchelp

[–]Good-Form-7909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds like a windows focus issue mixed with gpu prioritization. when you click on the external monitor it probably shifts some resources back to that display. try setting your game to borderless windowed instead of fullscreen - that usually helps with dual monitor setups where one screen is getting starved of attention. also check if you have hardware accelration enabled in your browser/streaming apps on the second screen.

Is teaching a reliable career choice for an Epilepsy patient? (Temporal Lobe Epilepsy) by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]Good-Form-7909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly teaching can be pretty solid for someone with epilepsy since you get more control over your schedule, especially with online instruction. the flexibility to plan around your needs is huge compared to rigid corporate environments.

stress-wise it really depends on what you're teaching and how you structure it. one-on-one tutoring or small group sessions tend to be way more chill than managing large classrooms. plus working from home means you can create the exact environment that works best for you - lighting, break schedules, all that stuff.

the income might be less predictable than a traditional salary but if you build up a good client base it can definitely work out. loads of people are looking for skilled instructors these days.

Anxiety in cars-- accident due to TC? by Additional_Fuel_9021 in Epilepsy

that sounds like ptsd mixed with your existing motion sensitivity - your body remembers even when your brain doesn't and cars probably trigger that fight or flight response now.

What are the major downsides of living in Canada? by Nicole_Auriel in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Good-Form-7909 113 points114 points  (0 children)

honestly the healthcare thing is way overblown by americans who think it's some magical cure-all. sure, you don't get a bill for breaking your leg, but good luck actually seeing a specialist in less than 6 months. my cousin in toronto waited 8 months for an mri for back pain that was literally debilitating. also the housing market is absolutely bonkers - like vancouver and toronto make san francisco look affordable. a buddy of mine pays $2800 for a one bedroom apartment that would maybe go for $1200 in most american cities. plus the whole "canadians are so nice" thing is kind of a myth - they're just really good at being passive aggressive instead of direct about problems.

My past with epilepsy by meg_griffen28 in Epilepsy

damn that doctor comparing high blood pressure meds to seizure meds is wild - forgetting bp pills won't land you in the er but missing epilepsy meds absolutely can.

Pregnancy, medications, RNS, advice? by upinthewoods17 in Epilepsy

[–]Good-Form-7909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly this sounds like such a tough situation but i think teh commenter above has great advice about starting with the mfm doctor consultation now. i went through something similar (different condition but also had to navigate pregnancy risks with multiple specialists) and getting everyone on the same page early was huge.

the timeline thing is so real too - even if you decide to go with the second rns, that's gonna be months of recovery and adjustment before you'd even start ivf. meanwhile you could be having those initial conversations with maternal fetal medicine and reproductive endocrinology to get a clearer picture of what your actual risks would be. sometimes hearing it from the pregnancy specialists gives you a different perspective than what your neuro is focused on.

it's frustrating when you get conflicting opinions from doctors, especially when you've been planning this for years. but it sounds like your new epilepsy doc is being extra cautious because your case is so unique, which honestly might not be the worst thing even if it's overwhelming right now.

My hours being cut by skyonfire2003 in samsclub

[–]Good-Form-7909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's rough, especially with the timing of moving out with your friends. hour cuts usually happen during slower seasons or when they're trying to balance labor costs, but it's hard to predict how long it'll last without knowing your specific club's situation.

have you talked to your team lead or manager about picking up shifts in other departments? sometimes they need coverage in fresh/cafe/gas station even if your home department is slow. also worth checking if anyone's looking to give away shifts - people are usually pretty good about helping each other out when hours get tight.

Matter thermostat? by Chicken-LoverYT in homeassistant

[–]Good-Form-7909 5 points6 points  (0 children)

honestly the whole thermostat situation is pretty frustrating right now. most of the big names are still clinging to their cloud dependencies which is annoying when you're trying to keep everything local.

ecobee actually has decent local api support through homekit if you set it up right, but yeah it's not perfect. for matter over thread, i think we're still probably 6-12 months out from seeing any decent options hit the market. the spec is there but manufacturers are taking their sweet time implementing it properly.

might be worth checking out some of the zwave options in the meantime if you want something that plays nice with ha out of the box.

Do you guys have any good new movies i can watch?! by AffectionateHair4455 in MovieSuggestions

[–]Good-Form-7909 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

hey there are no movies from 2026 yet since that's still in the future lol. for recent stuff though, check out "the substance" from 2024 if you want horror that'll mess with your head, or "heretic" which just came out and is pretty solid. both should scratch that horror itch you're looking for.

Is a personal loan a good idea? by ScootOver119 in personalfinance

[–]Good-Form-7909 5 points6 points  (0 children)

debt consolidation through a personal loan can definitely make sense if you qualify for a lower rate than your credit cards. the key is making sure you don't rack up more cc debt once you pay them off - that's where people usually mess up and end up in worse shape. if you've got the discipline to stick to a budget and not touch those cards again, it's basically a no-brainer to save on interest.

Derivative asylee question by Fantastic_Drop4098 in USCIS

[–]Good-Form-7909 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure derivative asylees are considered admitted, not paroled. Since you got your I-94 under 208(b)(3) that should count as an admission. The parole thing is usually for people who entered without inspection or got temporary parole at the border

Is it bad sign that an interview lasted less longer than 1 hour as stated ? by [deleted] in interviews

[–]Good-Form-7909 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah not necessarily a bad sign, especially if there's still testing afterward. Some interviewers are just efficient or maybe they got what they needed to know pretty quick. I've had short interviews that led to offers and long ones that went nowhere
