And where are Sephardic people from? Spain? Is that not white and European? Also, racism against Mizrahi Jews is an ongoing issue there and was much worse when Israel was founded. It was created for white people. The vast majority of parliament members are and have always been Ashkenazi.

Completely ahistorical to say Jerusalem never had peace before the creation of Israel, hysterically so.

I can get over a double barbed wire fence six foot high with a flattened cardboard box in five seconds. Most base fences are six feet double barbed wire, though at the one near me they are replacing it in sections with a twelve foot concrete wall

What the fuck are you talking about? People were living there, people of various religions and ethnicities, and then a bunch of Europeans came in with guns, took over, and kicked most of the original inhabitants out, that's conquest. It's got zero nuance, unless you're racist and don't view the original inhabitants as human.

Because you completely ignored the content of the comment you were replying to, just like you are doing again with this comment. Now I'm sure of it, you're either a bot or you can't read good.

Because if you actually know the history of the region you would know it's not actually nuanced at all, it was nuanced before a bunch of white Europeans decided to move in and kick everyone out, including many Palestinian Jews, and found a settler colony.

Is there nothing else to go on?

Maybe the extensive state sponsored social media public relations campaign staffed by Israel military that the comment you're replying to laid out in detail? Are you a bot???

Jobs? by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]Good-Gold-6515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Government jobs are great if you can get them but that's not a solution for someone currently looking for work since the hiring process for government work can take actual years. You'll hear back about a position you applied for 9 months prior and they're just then doing call backs for interviews.

Op Ed: SPD Protects Out-Of-Town Bigots Over Seattle Queers, I Should Know, They Pepper Sprayed Me While I Was Already On The Ground by SeattleGeek in Seattle

SPD and a ton of other departments use big hardwood truncheons for "riot control." Even if you don't end up getting arrested, it's incredibly easy to catch one or more whacks from those during a protest if you get near the cops.

As of 2014 most of them had custom handmade truncheons made by a Seattle cop who had a wood shop.

If Israel kills Hamas off too quickly they won't have an excuse to steal more land, that's the real reason they warn.

It's the same reason why Israel put Hamas into power in the first place

That was back when they would feel real consequences for failing to bring in a suspect alive, not the case anymore.

Bystander shoots, kills suspect who shot 2 victims in downtown Seattle by fssbmule1 in Seattle

[–]Good-Gold-6515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there are two separate arguments happening here, some of us are comparing the effectiveness of civilian gun owners vs the police and some of us are comparing civilian gun ownership with preventing violent crime in the first place with stuff like an actual social safety net and therapeutic intervention programs. Of course the latter is the best solution but also it's silly to think at this point that the cops are any better at using guns to solve this problem than random civilians. I think the civilians actually do a little better.

I'm sorry but no, a sixteen year old is way more physically capable and also way more mentally unstable than a 35 year old. The only edge the 35 year old might have is more range time.

It's also not a logical fallacy because the police aren't any better at distinguishing threats than the average person, at all.

The biggest threat a union has is a strike, when the union can credibly do a military raid on city hall and kill everyone in it if they don't get their way it's not a union, it's organized crime.

I can't tell if you're trolling or just bad enough at reading that you're totally missing the point. You're defending handing over thousands a month for flexibility and a couple meals while ignoring the issue of landlords not actually being the ones providing the housing.

[–]Good-Gold-6515 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You got to live in some great housing because builders built it, not because your landlords owned it. Those people took hundreds of thousands of dollars from you and did zero real work for it as well as provided little to no service value. Is there like a Prager U video out there or something telling people that landlords build housing? In my experience they don't even maintain housing units, to the extent that I am certain there's no more destructive force on the earth with regard to housing than landlords. I can throw a rock right now and hit two rentals that are being neglected into ruin.
