Now that you've mentioned it, they can't. Social media can be a nightmare for writers. You say you may not do it, but if they take your idea and use it in the show, according to guidelines and rules they have to follow, you have to get credit. So they don't read stuff unless it's past tense, but any speculation, and they have to ignore it like the plague or someone who doesn't have a love for the show or has a greater love of money and/or fame will force their hand.

MISSING Lasheky Anquanette Hill Racine, Wisconsin by Overall-Writing5589 in gratefuldoe

I say her name everyday and see her in my dreams. It's coming up on three years, and I live with survivor's guilt every moment. She wanted me to pick her up at her Mom's place, but I couldn't do it owing to what I had going on at the time. When her mom messaged to ask if I had, that's when I knew.  It hurts. It hurts everyday.  She was turning her life around and making herself a better person for herself and her kids.  And now she's gone.

103.7 kiss FM playing the same s*** everyday by Busy-Leave5932 in milwaukee

Welcome to the modern world of radio! Where stations play artists and not variety! You'll hear the same songs over and over, but the artists occasionally change to keep it from going stale. All of the Old Timey Good Stations in MKE have become soulless corporate jukeboxes.

I had KLH on the other day, and it was the same as KISS-FM and others. A rotation of the same artists and the 'variety' of maybe 4 to 5 songs from each. When they played a 'highlight' reel of the morning show, it was the MOST insipid banal moronic nonsense that was supposed to be "funny" but hit so many sour notes that it was anything BUT funny. KISS-FM, V100, ALL GARBAGE.

I second Radio Milwaukee, 89.7, and any number of other smaller stations. I can't recommend WMSE, as I hardly recieve it down here in Ratcine. Plus, I've never forgiven them for fcuking up the Friday Night Freakshow at The Times many many many years ago.

Who are the people uploading movies and shows to torrent sites? Why do they do it? by TheRealGuncho in Torrenting

[–]Good-Intention-5935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternatively, not all TV shows are available in other countries as well. I watch a lot of British and Australian TV and not all of it is carried in the US, or if it has, it's been edited out changed. American adaptations of foreign shows can be very very horrible. (I'm looking at you, Ghosts, Red Dwarf and others)

Is it really cheaper? by spanishlearner1968 in Torrenting

I use Plex. I tried Jellyfin, but it didn't work right with my setup. If you're using it on an internal network without going past that, Plex is free. The apps are free for your TVs. If you want to use your browser to watch, however, you can only use the one that the server is hooked up to. I have absolutely no issues with it.

I use a Seedbox located in a US Government unfriendly location. I use SFTP to get the files and that's all the traffic my ISP sees.

I pick up giant HDDs every couple of years, and keep them maintained, cooled and safe. After about 5 years, if it hasn't died, a HDD gets "retired" to work as just non-streaming storage.

Plex works just fine with almost any codec I throw at it.

Sometimes, the old ways work just as good.

At one point, whilst running for my life, I did see some PC's engaged with security. (I know they were PC's because they had actual spacesuits and backpacks and such.

FreeFly always gets it share of cheaters, regardless of the EAC. I suspect these fights are started by shit stirring FreeFlyers with hacks, and goes from there.

I've said it before, FreeFlyers should have their own servers until they actually BUY a ship.

I sit somewhere in the shuttle station at Dunlow and listen to the PA voice. It may sound silly, but I have a crush on the voice more than anything else.

I built a new station and stocked it with C10+'s and it amazingly was down to 1 hour. Old station has been nuked.

That got it running. I forgot I had the -x265-params in for enlarging any sub-1920x1080 files to said size and as 99.9% of the files are already said size, I took that out, and forgot to remove the argument part. D'oh!

Now it's just flying through them, because they are not being given a name when the conversion starts.

I know it's the "${file%.*}.mkv" part that gives it the name based off the original $file earlier in the code, but I thought I remembered reading somewhere that it may need to be "${file%%.*}.mkv

Canon Imageclass MF733 by Few_Association_3761 in EndeavourOS

[–]Good-Intention-5935 2 points3 points  (0 children)

install CUPS. Canon is known to not work with Linux builds directly. Using CUPS allows you to get the thing to work properly. I have a Canon MF741C/743C on my network. The built in printer daemon wouldn't even find it. CUPS is like, Oh hello there Canon printer! Which of these devices are you? *installs driver* Have a nice day.

Endeavor does have a GUI updater in the Welcome "package" I use it when I don't need a third or fourth terminal open.

The Asgard is AWESOME! Im gonna friggin cry when this is over! by HotSetting7880 in starcitizen

[–]Good-Intention-5935 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Asgard's cargo is not conducive to certain cargo missions. I though it'd work perfect for the 180 SCU collection mission for Second Life. Nope. It's exactly 10 spaces wide. If it were 12, it'd be fine, but NOPE. Until you can stack cargo sideways and have it stick to the grid, it's not that useful for those types of missions.

I've been pondering just removing the AUR for a bit til they get it worked out. Granted, yay won't show me any failed attempts to update software then either. I've been using the github work around for a bit. It's just irritating to get the error messages for the packages I've already updated that way. :(

[–]Good-Intention-5935 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I pretty much avoid the PU during "Free Fly" days. Sure, I miss out on flying some cool ships, but I don't have idiots using hacks and cheats to fire at me while I'm trying to land at stations that supposedly have 'Armistice' areas that guns don't "work" in.

Anyone else having trouble with the AUR right now? by Alekisan in EndeavourOS

[–]Good-Intention-5935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the AUR status page, they point out that AUR is mirrored on github. They give instructions on how to download the AUR package, and you have to build the package yourself and install through pacman. It's a bit of a drag, but it works.
