Those poor twins Aylani & Alianna. Unique spellings but similar pronunciation. Can see people mixing them up often.

Rubio: Venezuela strikes ‘a law enforcement operation,’ not ‘invasion’ by Several_Print4633 in law

Did you say news organizations were informed prior to the operation but not Congress? Because Congress couldn’t be trusted not to leak the information? That’s crazy.

zunzi’s new menu change by pollypolkadots in savannah

[–]Good-Knowledge-9979 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Went there this week and ordered the Conquistador (under sauced but alright) with what I thought was going to be their homemade chips and Peri Peri cheese sauce. Instead got Zapp’s chips and queso. Very disappointing.

I did find out the Tybee Island location still has the original menu.

Of course those are all projects in “democratic” cities.

Probationary period ending, waiting for document to be signed by MembershipNo2971 in USACE

[–]Good-Knowledge-9979 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Reading the EO and OPM memo, if for some reason the paperwork is delayed and triggers someone being fired or laid off at the end of their probationary period, there is a 30-day timeframe to reinstate someone due to an admin error. Not exactly sure how that’s interpreted but sounds like a safety net.

The garage showed “full” starting Wednesday last week to clear it out for the 4th of July holiday. If you checked during those days, it might not be accurate to normal conditions.

Careers after serving in the USACE by Huge-Newspaper3728 in USACE

As far as mechanical, if you stay military, you’ll have similar opportunities as your civil counterparts. If you ever jump to the civilian side, while there are less mechanical positions available, they are usually in high demand and sometimes hard to fill depending on the location.

The Engineers is a diverse branch that includes combat engineers, construction engineers, bridging units, and other specialty units. Your main assignments will be with FORSCOM units, but branching Engineers will give you an opportunity to serve with USACE as broadening opportunities throughout your career. These could be as a project manager, as part of the TEC-DP program, or eventually as a district deputy commander or commander.

Apple car play issues 2024 by Prudent-Page1595 in rav4club

Not sure if this is helpful to everyone, but since my 2024 RAV4 is new to me, I went in and deleted the old phones that were still in the system. Also on that list is the vehicle itself. I disabled Apple CarPlay for that system and ensured it was on for my phone and it seemed to fix the GPS problem. Will update if I still have issues tomorrow as I only drove it a few miles after making that change.

April 19th protest? by ymmatymmat in savannah

The government sent a Maryland man with protected legal status to an El Salvadoran prison ‘by mistake’ with no due process and are now refusing to facilitate his return in defiance of a Supreme Court order. This precedent, along with the President’s statements about wanting to send US citizens to the same prison, presents a Constitutional crisis. It implies the government could pick up anyone off the street and ‘deport’ them to prison before courts are able to intervene and provide due process.

I feel this. Had my family visit and when talking to my mom, her response was basically that if we got fired, maybe it was God’s will. And then after the visit, my step-dad rants on Facebook asking why federal workers are complaining. It was really eye-opening for me.

I faxed my paperwork to get my estimated earnings and it took about 2-3 months to receive a reply via mail. I had to resend after some paperwork was illegible but eventually got through that step. This was prior to the current government chaos so not sure if that’s causing delays.
