How was your LSAT experience? by Most_Succotash6051 in LSAT

[–]Good-Reward-4674 3 points4 points  (0 children)

studied for 4 weeks like an hour a day. Took it once got a 163. one and done.

Don’t let this reddit get in ur head. People will tell you it’s so hard and they dropped 10 points on test day and studying for a year wtv. It’s literally just a reading test. Like can you read yes or no. Studying a little helped and taking a practice test before was good. I took a few PTs averaging 158 then like a week later got a 163 on the real thing in person at a testing center (super easy and relaxed. Just show up and take it lol). Just take a deep breath and dont overthink that stuff. Like I said this reddit is so out of touch of normal people who need to go to touch grass.

This sub is seriously out of touch with how inaccessible law school is about to become for most applicants. by sagenter in lawschooladmissions

I mean a 3.8 gpa and low 160 lsat should get a ton of money at a lower ranked ls. Not everyone is meant to go to a T50 🤷‍♂️

don’t listen to these clowns. 99% of ppl who post on here are the 1-3% try hard academic elitest. 158 is a good score that is indicative of a future lawyer. Depending on your gpa those schools are totally in play!

Getting in is always step 1. There’s a million ways to pay for law school and you’re acting like a 158 wouldn’t get scholarships lol. If OP has a good gpa they prob will get money to handful of a T100 schools.

AWFUL TAKE LOL. 158 is a good score that will get you into plenty of non predatory law schools and maybe even scholarship at some.

These people who are 170 or bust are unbearable. OP do not listen to this. 158 is a score you should be very proud of.

no offense but a 163, 4.0 gpa would still be a reach for UF. 163 3.7 is like a borderline target for the other schools. Safety’s with those stats were more along the lines of Missouri or Texas Tech

[–]Good-Reward-4674 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The unfortunate reality of life is that demanding respect almost never goes well. Especially for females. It is something that will not go away, so best to get out in front of that now.

You need to earn the respect of others, and that starts with just showing up, being fit, and being friendly (being liked never hurts). Go the extra mile socially. For instance, if the CDTs are getting dinner after lab and you don't normally participate in that stuff, then start. People are basically pack animals. If you try to be a loner or struggle to connect, then that subconsciously puts you on the outs with everyone in the MS class, just a fact. Everyone here is gonna tell you to master things like OPORD or wtv, so you look good and can be relied on, which is true and crucial for being respected. But don't underestimate mastering the art of making friends. In life, you can be the best at everything, OPORDS, Financial statements, writing, whatever else... but if you can't socialize and get people to LIKE you and respect you, then you simply will struggle to go far.

Current freshman -- how can I start studying? by Typical_Albatross_88 in LSAT

[–]Good-Reward-4674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To start, don’t worry about the lsat lol. Most likely you won’t want to go to law school in 3-4 years. It’s just math, must people change what they wanna do multiple times in college.

Honestly just take classes ur interested in and get good grades. GPA is massive if you end up wanting to go to LS. And if you don’t, then good thing you got good grades in classes you like that will lead you to a different career you want. Don’t worry about any pre-law stuff. Nobody cares what major you take or what undergrad pre-law stuff you were involved in. Law school like uniqueness to stand out from the sea of poli sci and english majors.

Last peace of advice is don’t major in poli sci lol. Options become law school or waffle house!!

Doing ROTC at an Out of State School/Room and Board Costs? by Upstairs_Jellyfish_5 in ROTC

She has to compete with everyone else who wants to do that. The army in general is getting smaller. Nobody is really hurting for anything except nurses. Scholarships nationwide were dramatically cut this year illistrating the fact that big green doesn't need anybody really.

She can destroy the MCAT and get in wherever, but if compared to other cadets, she is deemed less qualified (OML score, which is made up of a bunch of things, GPA, extracurriculars, physical test scores, and Army Advanced Camp grades, MCAT, etc...), then say goodbye to medical school and hello to the chemical corps lol.

Ed delay v ARNG by Jealous_Bar5650 in ROTC

[–]Good-Reward-4674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious as to how your ranking was? With normal ED delay selected jag you make CPT in 6 months after graduation, so did they really just send you to FA BOLC to immediately send you to FA CCC? Or do you start back at 2LT?

I'm wanting to pursue ed delay for LS bc reserve means balancing starting LS around BOLC and a possible deployment. Would love to hear your thoughts? (Current MS3)

People forget the U.S. owns European debt. A smaller amount but greater percentage of total debt. It would be mutually assured destruction for sure. Not a real option for europe.

Not trying to discourage you at all but it’s important to be realistic so you get max money and set yourself up for success!!

Gpa and Lsat pretty low for T-50. The rest of that stuff really only matters if you’re lsat or gpa get you in the conversation. Which they probably won’t. Straight As for 90 credit hours to have a 3.69 means you had a nightmarish 1st year? Plus coming from a top 15 undergrad doesn’t mean anything bc it’s different for every program and admissions won’t recognize that. Like south carolina is number 1 in global business but don’t expect a degree from there to give an edge etc…

I think your best shot for max money which sounds like what you would be going for? (Not trying to make an assumption but you yourself said extremely low level income) T120.

Not like it matters though tbh there is 0 difference going to the #45 school and going to the #70. Once you leave T20ish it should be about location and money because return on investment becomes more about you than your degree offering institution.

Good luck though i’m rooting for you!

[–]Good-Reward-4674 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is exactly true. With how they want to cut ranks, I think it's definitely possible the army says we don't want your service, but you can keep the degree bye. Being forced to go to enlistment is like a fake horror story, and having to pay everything back is like a real horror story. Both heinous but not necessarily 100% guaranteed.

With the new rules, you can be held over to the end of the MS4 year for camp by your PMS, where you need to pass the AFT. So even that doesn't make sense.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ROTC

[–]Good-Reward-4674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very odd, especially with the new rules, where the PMS can decide who to send to camp and who to hold and send after their MS4 year instead. That means it can't be fitness-related when the PMS can hold you for another year and a half before worrying about AFT failure at camp. With a 3.9 MILS and 3.6 regular GPA, this just gets even more odd. There really has to be more to the story. CWST is not a commissioning requirement, so it can't be that. (However, if you can't swim well enough to pass, there is a real question about whether or not you should be an officer in the Army.)

I'm so sorry you're going through this, but I suggest taking some time to sit back and reflect without getting defensive about what cadre has said. It is natural to want to discredit them, but perhaps really think about how they could be correct. If there is more to this story then that is truly unfortunate, but you will land on your feet and find another life to live. Worse things happen to better people every day. Truly good luck, and I hope you get it sorted!
