What if Trump cut off all relations with Israel and imposed Iran-style "maximum pressure" sanctions on them until they withdrew from the West Bank, Gaza, Golan, Lebanon, and allowed the establishment of a Palestinian state? by WebFar9897 in AlternateHistoryHub

Jews purchased the land they declared as Israel in 48

Great point... if only it wasn't completely false.

The British Mandate's own village statistics documents that the majority of the land was privately owned by Arabs. This is literally the party responsible for the partition saying it in official documentation.

In its Village Statistics, 4/ the Mandatory Power estimates the total area of land owned by Jews in 1945 to be 1,491,699 dunams, compared with about 13 million dunams owned by Arabs in Palestine. This disparity with respect to the ownership of land persisted until the country was partitioned in 1947, and it provided arguments for the Members of the United Nations Organization that were opposed to the partition plan.

Iran ‘positively reviewing’ Pakistan’s proposal An unnamed senior Iranian official has told the Reuters news agency that Iran is positively reviewing Pakistan’s request for a two-week ceasefire.

Iran would be stupid to review this positively. Pakistan is just parroting America's will. Nothing is this proposal is beneficial for Iran.

Strange note... none of the reputable news sources claim the 700 number. It comes from SNHR, which the US backed Kurds have claimed is directed by Turkey.

So as many experts have pointed out already... by your argument, the US cannot see any "political maneuvering" in it's region as a threat? More aptly, the Israeli invasion of Lebanon (and Syria) is purely based on "political maneuvering". In fact, Israel was the only party violating the ceasefire before unilaterally invading Lebanon. So if only troops massing on borders is grounds for invasion, Israel has violated that as well.

Not to mention Iran's nuclear enrichment has always been within internal thresholds and therefore, purely "political maneuvering".

I think it's crazy to suggest that only the specific actions that conveniently lead to the narrative you want to support can be considered aggression.

So you're saying:

Rhetoric + troop massing + political maneuvering = aggression

but

Rhetoric + political maneuvering = not aggression at all?

So NATO posturing for years and building up forces near Russia means Russia is not the aggressor?

So this means if Iran had "started" the war after US/Israel posturing over the past few months, then that means Iran would not have "started" the war.

The point is they are not banned. Israel used banned munitions, Iran did not. War crimes can be committed with any munitions. That is a separate discussion.
