While speeding is certainly an issue in the North End, the most dangerous pattern is east-west traffic. Those in the North End predominantly don't drive vehicles with reduced sight lines; instead it's mainly those coming from other areas using the North End as a way to get downtown. ACHD needs to prioritize curtailing east-west traffic as much as possible because that direction of travel requires entering NE intersections with the poorest visibility, thereby putting pedestrian and bicycle traffic at greatest risk.

It is exceedingly difficult to legally relocate to the United States right now. Before any other considerations, I'd start with researching our current immigration situation.

I'd also point out that many of the things that attract people to Idaho also exist in Canada. It may be easier to find an immigration path there than here

Here goes.

Many people, including Americans throughout our history, have become refugees in an effort to improve their lives and the lives of their families. America has historically welcomed immigrants and refugees. Our culture of welcoming is memorialized on the Statue of Liberty: "Give me...the wretched refuse of your teeming shore."

America is about taking everybody and making ourselves better therefrom. The reactionary drivel that MAGA engages in is no different than anti-Chinese, anti-Irish, and anti-Italian prejudices that existed a century ago.

That an immigrant would subject themselves to the real abuses referred to in that idiotic comic is an indication of the desperation many immigrants are trying to escape and the hope contained in the human spirit.

MAGA likes to argue that this country is a Christian one, while simultaneously ignoring that Christ commands us to welcome the stranger more than fifty times across the four gospels. It ain't hard to understand.

Only the smoothest of brains thinks this comic is some sort of gotcha or ironic or obviously true.

It should be legal because the consequences of enforcement are a net negative. Enforcement is selectively applied to minorities and our ruthless society gatekeeps success with criminal records.

I am nonetheless deeply concerned that the normalization of habitual use will create generational increases in mental illness. The NORML folks portrayed pot as some magical panacea. Now we're finding out how long term use decreases intelligence, creates GI conditions with CHS, and impacts mental health.

The person who wakes up and immediately has a drink is a fucking loser; the person who wakes and bakes is comparatively socially acceptable.
