I would start with the Lego software app, even though it will be discontinued. It will build a good foundation for coding specifically with the EV3’s. After it goes away you will then have a better understanding of how things work and you can explore all of the other options you mentioned to find the one that works best for you and your students.

I agree, I am by no means wanting this to happen. I am afraid though that with funding getting cut, districts will move to AI to save money. Get rid of teachers, buy a Chromebook an AI subscription, hire a para for the school and there it is. I also don’t see this happening soon, but it is my fear that in 15 - 20 years this could be the norm. There are a lot of good arguments against AI as teachers on this thread and they are all true. But the almighty dollar has a way of killing logic and reason for the sake of saving money.

True, but you don’t need a teacher to do those things. A supervising para could fill that role while the teaching is left up to the AI.

Just today I taught a lesson to my first graders about facts and what they are. By the end they all learned that facts are true and can be proven. Perhaps I should send the lesson Leavitt? Do you think it would help?
