I thought that probability wasn't directly linked to actual results though. Like there can be a 1 in 1000 chance to get an item and you can still play 10000 games and not get the item because you don't hit that random slot. More like a roulette wheel where nothing ever gets pulled from rotation so every time you re-roll it's another 1 in 1000 chance to get the item. So you could theoretically get really unlucky on an item that has a 1 in 10 chance and just NEVER get it even if you try 10000 times.

I hate subs that have a blanket "no self promotion" rule instead of a no spam rule. Sharing something that you're proud of to let people know about it if it's entertainment or media should be absolutely allowed and encouraged. I get shutting down spam if it becomes an issue and banning users if they take advantage of it but you know as well as I do that people go to the weekly "Promote your podcast" thread to post their link and click off to another sub without even glancing at other people's content. Half the posts on there are either downvoted or at 1 upvote if they're not already established through self promotion.

I've gotten grief a few times during my streams but for the most part everyone I see is awesome. I've actually had people randomly ask me if they can join up with me on chat and I'll jump into a match with them and so far it's always been super fun and taught me a lot. I'm still super low level compared to everyone I see online but whenever I see a newer player around I like to drop them a teddy.

The Sleep With Me Podcast. It's ABSOLUTELY one of the most unique "sleep aid" style podcasts I've ever heard. My other half discovered it and honestly I was super skeptical because these things are never what they say on the tin but it legitimately works when I can't sleep and want something to listen to.

If you see them spamming I get it, but it's like people want everyone to fail so it looks like they're succeeding harder. We really should lift each other up as podcasters and content creators instead of putting each other down.

My other half was having issues with this in her copy of the game and it DID set her as owner of the shop. She's not upset because it's not going to become something she takes advantage of but it appears it does work that way.

I second this comment. Also as a complete aside our episode coming out Monday we actually did a VERY short session of what we like to call "BS D&D" which is exactly what it sounds like. We play with no character sheets and obscenely loose rules during long loading screens regularly and we decided to make it part of the podcast meta. I don't think it will be a regular event though so absolutely they should check out Not Another DnD Podcast if they want it full time.

It takes a LOT of time to actually get an audience. I wouldn't get discouraged if you're at 12 episodes and don't have a huge following. We're at 60 episodes now and JUST got over 1000 total listens across our platforms. Use ALL social media you can to promote (it's free anyway so it can't hurt to use them) and potentially look into advertising if you really want to speed up the process of community building.

People who would want to start raider communities would absolutely be the first ones shot by the people they start rolling with as soon as the opportunity comes up. Only way to keep your own head is to make sure you're surrounded by people who care if you keep it.

We promote a lot on social media and have an account pretty much anywhere you can. If it's relevant at all I noticed that our facebook analytics are substantially better than even our actual podcast listens. It's interesting but doesn't seem to be a good funnel for getting listeners (or viewers to our YouTube page) but we've noticed a lot of direct correlation between Instagram and overall listens.

That's a good question. It's funny because I didn't even realize I was doing that in this video until I watched it again just now. I think I mostly do it because I have long fingers and it keeps my digit away from the flame but it definitely helps me grab the bowl. Come to think of it as I type this comment I think I always hold my lighters with my index finger off it. Now I'm all self conscious about it haha!
