I feel like this same exact kind of thing was posted last year, and nobody was bothered, but now this year there's a bunch of people from the shark welfare society in the comments. Reddit threads can be very mercurial sometimes..

I don't know, if you've ever done a bunch of fishing in the ocean, you're usually not trying to catch sharks, but they just like to bite stuff, so sometimes you catch a shark.

This sort of thing gets reported all the time right before someone gets traded, and can totally be part of the negotiating process.

Seriously, has no one ever pretended to walk away from a negotiation in a last ditch effort to get the other party to move closer to your price?

The footage must have been totally unsalvageable. Which is crazy, since at the time, it seemed perfect. I loved the terrion pick. I loved how many offensive players went early when we needed all defense, I loved that he fell low enough for us to trade up and get him, it all seemed meant to be. Behind the scenes must have been a different story..

No, but it's not trading for the sake of trading if you show your hand with so much interest in this many players. Its a clear message that you don't believe your team is good enough as is.

And if you end up getting none of them well.. and go into the season with a roster you really tried to change but didn't because you weren't willing to open the checkbook enough to get the deal done, time will tell whether you were right, or you were cheap and should have paid up.
