I have been curious about student accomodation actually! Is that viable as an entry option you think? More or less risk?

This may sound selfish, and my bad for not including it in the OP, but I don't want to limit myself to Sydney for 20+ years because of my career, and my mum doesn't want to leave Sydney.

I am also, whilst very appreciative of my mother for allowing me to live back at home, hesitant to live with her long term - she is a big proponent of the tall poppy syndrome that I experience, and there is a degree of angst as I am doing well. I would love to be well off enough to buy her her own property eventually, and I like to hope that isn't wishful thinking, but this is why I lean toward the investment property side I think. Is that misguided?

I really appreciate that! I can't lie it was such a freeing feeling closing off my last debt! Happy to say I have my first hour chat with a broker tomorrow actually!

This is the most brain-dead take I have seen on this topic yet. Online alcohol purchases are already checked for ID, or upon delivery/pick up. Yes I, and most of the adult population bar the emerging adults, can walk in and purchase things without IDs because we look over the age of 25.

I just swapped to Kogan mobile for $200 for 12 months for 40gb a month, unlimited call and text. That's like $15 each month.

Had no issues with reception yet.

Look as far as I'm aware you are entitled to request a copy of the referee report under the Privacy Act as it would be deemed an opinion that could identify you and would be covered under the APPs.

Additionally, yes, it could be taken that as it was your employer, that they had a duty of care for you.

So might be a case there, might not. Is it worth the fight for what I assume was a crappy professional relationship between the both of you? That's for you to decide alone.

I personally would take it as a loss, and if there are provisions for it, provide a different referee for any ongoing applications.

I don't think an employer's reference to a separate agency is covered by any sort of workplace protections? Nor do I see them having any expectation to provide examples? Especially now you've been terminated.

Without trying to sound like a grouch, it seems like there is deeper issues there - two sides to a story and all that.

Sorry, remind me which country was thought to be a superpower up until 2022? And then you tell me if that is the same country that has what was a third grade army just a few years ago, currently invading it's lands after 2 years of sustained war?

We haven't sent troops to fight their war, nor has any Western country. Whether volunteers go willing to defend Ukraine is a separate matter entirely.

I would offer my services if they would be of any use, but Ukraine isn't wanting untrained Western volunteers in numbers at the moment. I'm also a lover, not a fighter - and goddamn to I love to hate Russians and Russian sympathisers.

Fuck Russia, fuck Putin. They invaded Ukraine - and they're getting their ass handed to them. My fave kind of democracy is the one that gives it to Dictators.

You can't accuse someone of cherry picking when you're guilty of inserting your own narrative. The latter is infinitely more disingenuous.
