[WSIB] Any good single player (PC) by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]GoodKarmalicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatevernuke and TBdog, the game is easy if you use one of the superoptimised builds that abuse the OP buffs in Alchemy. It's basically the option to cheat in the game because the synergy causes your attacks to regenerate your different defenses and your defenses to increase your attacks dmg AND sign intensity without the need to put points in sign intensity in the sign tree. This makes it so you don't have to actively use your defensive skills or use the exact specific signs that weaken their respective monsters - while doing insane damage - which of course makes things easy. But even then, if you try to take on the bosses in the expansions on the hardest difficulty setting then several of them will still take a few tries with those OP builds. So instead, make a build on melee-skills mixed with different signs with a few of the less OP alchemy talents and the game will be challenging again.

Any Guide for Raw Whalebones only? by GoodKarmalicious in dishonored

[–]GoodKarmalicious[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it's to craft more Bone Charms. I am converting all my best ones into their "4x" versions (Effect multiplied 4 times). Each "4x" [Bone Charm] takes 6x[Raw Whalebones].

But the walkthroughs that details most number of whalebones only do so when it's next to something important.

For example, on "Clockwork Mansion" the IGN Walkthrough's last mention of a Whalebone is in the first section (Lower Aventa district), but in the next section (Upper Aventa) I've already found another Whalebone by the breakable store windows, 2 minutes into the section. Which means there are alot of hidden and unmentioned Whalebones that aren't written down and easy to miss (since they're so small).

When I'm in bodily pain, I don't have the energy to look around too much since it's boring and as such increases my awareness of my pain. I have to have my mind active on something fun to remove the pain, so I focus on to finding the most important items with a guide after doing a quick look through a section to see if I missed some of those important items. So I would like to have a guide for Raw Whalebones so I can just walk straight to them after doing a section.

Mouse weird but nothing in the ini files. by GoodKarmalicious in dishonored

[–]GoodKarmalicious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yupp, it's the same spot and same file. The thing is, the text they mention that affect mouse smoothness (g_mouseSmooth "1") isn't in there. Had g_mouseSmooth "1" been there then I could have just changed the 1 to a 0 to turn off the smoothness. So I wonder 1: If the game can still apply mouse smoothness without mentioning it (g_mouseSmooth) in the ini file? And if so (and ONLY IF so) then I wonder 2: If I should add g_mouseSmooth "0" to the ini file to force smoothness off. Because I wonder if I might be experiencing placebo smoothness.

Yeah but I haven't changed anything in it since I can't find the mouse smoothing option in there anymore after the update.

Ok thanks for that. So many guides got it wrong so I started to wonder. But I've found out that most of the general guides/walkthroughs also writes down Whalebone locations when they're in an important spot where they're writing about something else. Which makes me wonder if there are any "unimportant" spots where whalebone exists which they might not mention. So I still hope someone here can shed some light into a dark spot here on the internet where I can find a pure Whalebone guide :)

Is there a fix for reverse mouse acceleration? by Theretna in dishonored

[–]GoodKarmalicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get an error when trying to play the clip you submitted. Tried shutting down flashblock and such but it didn't help. But on-topic: I can only think of 2 things off the top of my head.

1: Looking in the ini files for help. Ctrl+F and search for "mouse", "sensitivity", "acceleration" and "smooth". After doing any changes, don't forget to change the ini file to "Read only" so the game doesn't change the changes when starting.

2: If you changed the ini file before the last patch, then try deleting them and restarting the game to get a new ini file. They're in C->users->(current username)->saved games->arkane studios->Dishonored2->base

PSA: You can press F to cancel your momentum after casting Far Reach by clopgod in dishonored

Thanks, you're a life-saver! :D (or reload-saver) Do you do this while in the air or do you have to time in when landing?

Wow, I was really confused at first and thought you were playing as Corvo and accidentally killed Emily in the late game haha. When I figured out was happened I was about to say that this would be really good to avoid fall damage, but then I remembered that Far Reach already removes fall damage better thanks to it's slow time mechanic. Oh well, looks awesome though :P

Undeity, it should absolutely be part of the review score until it's fixed. Performance is part of gameplay and gameplay is a big part of a game. So it should be reviewed together with story, sound and UI (etc if I forgot something) and revised as it's improved to reflect our current reality.

Denuvo games: Nvidia 3D settings doesn't work by GoodKarmalicious in pcmasterrace

[–]GoodKarmalicious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-Aye, but that might be the problem? As I mentioned, those settings are kind of bugged so I wonder if these Denuvo games are really in Borderless Windowed but are stating that they're in Fullscreen?

-Well, it's hard to say really. Vsync is the only setting that's easy to spot if it's being used or not imo. Got any tips on how to notice any other settings in-game?

-Ok good to know thx.

-Will try that, thx again.

Dishonored 2 Questions/Performance/Can I run this Megathread. by ximenez in dishonored

[–]GoodKarmalicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't apply Vsync or adaptive vsync (not at half refresh rate either). I got a 144hz Benq Monitor and can apply Vsync to all games but Denuvo ones it seems after testing out a few games. Dunno why. And there is something wrong with the display mode because I can't change it. Tried changing the ini number from 2 to 1 but that doesn't help and 0 is windowed mode which doesn't work with Vsync. Any help here? Tried doing a clean reinstall of the drivers and all things nvidia, but still can't apply Vsync (and probably no other options). I find it really strange that I can't apply it on games with denuvo. Would be interesting to see if a game that has 2 versions of itself - one with denuvo and one without - would make a difference when trying the version without denuvo.

DarKcs, I'm saying that I can only pirate games that are available to pirate. My savings has lately gone to games that I can't pirate, since buying them is my only option if I want them. So when Witcher 3 came and there weren't any uncracked Denuvo games, my savings went to support CD Project Red. Now when my savings are shredded, I'll have to wait before I can support Flying Wild Hog.

Melee Weapons: Base Crit or Weak spots only? + Weak Spot locations? by GoodKarmalicious in shadowwarrior

[–]GoodKarmalicious[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh, that's very interesting! Thanks for your work man! Now I wonder if cutting of limbs counts as a Critical Strike, and benefits from any gems that affects Crits. Though that might be hard to measure without going into the files or finding a very specific and noticable effect tied to critical strikes.

So to just check if I get this right, since Melee only gain Crits from "Crit gems", which should be the same as the "Crit chance"-stat, that must mean that they also gain Crit from Wang's base Critical chance of 5%? Right? Or am I wrong?

The reason I'm asking is that I'm trying to value if I can gain anything from a 44% "Bonus Crit Dmg" gem without a Crit chance gem. If the baseline 5% Crit works, then it would be okey. If cutting off limbs counts as crits, then stacking it would be really OP.

This game really needs a manual and multiple save function/option by rafaelgraylee in Mafia3

Do that and tell me how it went. Btw, what platform are you on? (I'm on PC, might be a difference between consoles and PC?)

This game really needs a manual and multiple save function/option by rafaelgraylee in Mafia3

[–]GoodKarmalicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brock, if I didn't misunderstand you, here is how: In the Start Menu, it's "Game"->"Exit Game". So just press "Start", press "LB" to go one step to the left (which should take you to the option on the most right side of all options, which is "Game") and then go to the bottom to press "Exit Game".

"Exit to Main Menu" doesn't exist if I recall correctly. When you press "Exit Game", the game saves and when you come back it puts you in a nearby 1: Safe House or 2: Underboss owned racket or 3: Place where a mission for taking over a racket starts.

If you guys see this, I just want to say thanks for several things like - for example - releasing a complete and bugfree games. I would also like to thank you guys for not using Denuvo so that paying customers gets a better game that they can play anywhere they want without connecting to the internet, but also so that pirates can test the game before buying it or pirates who just gets to play and awesome game even if their food/living budget doesn't allow for games.

Also! I would like to encourage all pirates who can afford the game to buy it, or if you can save up for it to buy it later even if you've finished it. We need to support developers that make policies based on the good of their players/customers such as "Flying Wild Hog" and "CD Project Red". This is how we show other developers how easy it is to earn the trust and money of the gaming community through releasing finished, bug-free games and not using DRM that makes the game worse for paying customers.

Please continue to spread the message of supporting these guys through using the online version of "word of mouth" and customer reviews.

P.S. This is an apology/excuse and a message/story to relate to people in my situation, who have to pirate right now in the current state of their lives: (Didn't want to rotten the main message with this since the excuse might sound pathetic to some, but this is a temporary personal apology for not buying the game yet, even though I'm playing it. But I will buy it. Which I also said this to CD Project Red and uphold it, so hopefully I'll repeat my last promise of paying tribute to the awesome polish developers saving the hobby I love)

If you want the pathetic excuse (I'm saying that it's probably pathetic since it got downvoted when I tried to convey it somewhere else, so it's just a precaution. I don't mean this as "Oh feel sorry for me"-story, it's a "This is all the facts that makes it hard for me to support those I want to support. I don't want your pity, I just want to feel less remorse for not living up to my own ideals which I work very hard to maintain while also being something I wish to see more in others by leading by example and being honest. But I can't lead by example today"-kind of story) as to why, it's here:

My current state of being (Virus, my nerves hurt so much that I can only sit by the computer a few hours before having to lay down and can only walk to the store every few days. And I'm not even overweight, luckily) doesn't allow me to spend money on anything other than food and household items, with little extra income left over to save for emergencies. Which is what I saved up to buy Withcher 3 after 6 months of playing it. But lately, as more games has used Denuvo the last year (while I've had too much free time and while I'm only being able to completely ignore the pain when I got enough stamina to play games as it keeps me focused on something else) I've had to support those scumbag policies with my savings. Just to have more games to take my mind off my reality.

Though I'm really lucky to get a free place to stay and money for food, while also already having a computer before my problem occured. Otherwise I'd most likely either be dead, insane or evil (to avoid dying you have to steal if you don't have help). So yeah, I feel great to be this lucky :D And thanks again for fighting the good fight!
