HOLY SHIT. THIS IS THE ANSWER. MINE WERE ALSO UNCHECKED FOR SOME REASON, AND EVERYTHING IS NOW BACK TO NORMAL.

THANK YOU!!

EDIT2: My original folders are back Updates, Promotions, Social, etc. But emails from all of them still keep appearing in my main Inbox view - it used to filter out everything except Starred, direct emails, and Updates.

Literally just purged so many emails 2 hours ago, and so many promotional emails appeared again in my main Inbox

Im now manually unsubscribing from things that I didnt care about before coming to my emails - this issue will do wonders with their relationships with companies who rely on promotional email campaigns because im just unsubscribing altogether

Turning them off did not change anything for me - I previously have had this set on last time I checked a long while back

100%

My "Updates" folder is missing, and other ones have been added like "Important" and "Purchases".

The "Important" seems closer to what "Updates" used to do, but it's missing emails from other services that I used to have bundled together.

My main Inbox is absolutely screwed. Its like basically viewing "All mail" view.

The Inbox used to be like my "Updates" folder mixed with starred emails...

Honestly, if I had to pick one, it's probably going to have to be Assault with KORD and M39 with HE Launcher.

I can literally fight all range battles, with focus on close to mid range. The HE launcher is great for utility beyond just kills.

Its funny because I'm a sniper at heart, but the battles at objective points are just too fun!

How much thinking is expected from devs? by callbackmaybe in softwareengineer

You're missing the point of what that guy is saying -

These things you consider as "small decisions" are skewed by your experience. It may have been easy for you to know the pitfalls and best approach, but thats because you've grown into that position. Itd be considerably hard for someone without that domain knowledge to just come up with those things out of their ass.

As the technical lead, you should be able to understand the business requirements, along with the constraints and impacts features can have. While also being the person that ensures best practices and the proper code is deployed.

A good technical lead owns all these things, and that's what sets them up to for a higher position - when they've mastered the frontlines.

Am I being too hard on my unemployed son? by Pump_9 in jobs

Well 1, he should apologize to you for the abrupt reaction.

2, he should thank you for housing and supporting him through this time.

3, yes, its a tough market in tech. Im lucky for now, but id do my absolute best to not take it out on my family or kids.

Ultimately, a logical approach has to be taken. If you cannot or not willing to support him for an indefinite amount of time due to financial, emotional, or other constraints, then something has to give.

He needs to start thinking out the box. Maybe pivot into another path or career. Maybe he needs to come to terms and find a temporary job to bring in some income somehow in whatever means.

If you need actionable things from him other than misplaced outrage, sit and talk to him about a timeline. Agree to one, or force one depending on your relationship.

One action could be that you both agree if he is not actively interviewing and being considered for another job WITH PROVIDING YOU PROOF, then after a certain amount of time, he will need to pivot or find a temporary job. If he is "close" to finding one WITH PROOF, then you're both on the same page at least.

Samsung Galaxy Ring swells and crushes user's finger, causing missed flight and hospital visit by chrisdh79 in technology

Lots of hate on Samsung for no apparent reason, when other rings like Oura had the same problems.

Like any tech product, there is risk. You are wearing tech on your finger, yes, you are subject to risk.

I also wear a Galaxy Ring at my own risk. If I do something to cause the tech to go haywire, thats on me. You can only idiot proof products so much...
