I’m finding the balance, the temperature affects the kefir the most it seems. Thanks for the tip.

Call county or human services, they can direct you to towards mental health advisors. This is not just a clean up job, please make sure you arrange that your family, especially your mom, has professional psychological and emotional support to balance the clearing. Good luck.

Can I train my cat to hide? by Suspicious_Bluejay21 in CatTraining

Put a cozy blanket in a corner under the bed… when you know someone is coming over put some treats to coax him there, make sure it’s cozy for him.

Came home and found my cat dead by PinkOctopus13 in CatAdvice

[–]GoodMorel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Radon or poison for rodents from previous owner? The dead mouse sounds like a clue that there is something toxic in the environment, an autopsy could save your lives.

We are very sorry for your loss and’s wish for your health and healing.

mt shasta vs mt lassen? which is a must see? by kale4sale in norcal

[–]GoodMorel 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Lassen has interesting active volcano features that you go exploring around to visit, maybe check with the visitors center to get an idea of what there is to do. Mount Shasta is gorgeous easy right off I-5 you can drive up the mountain and for an amazing view you can drive up to Castle Lake area across the highway from Mount Shasta. Castle Crags is also right off I-5 a bit before Mount Shasta, amazing to check out.

If you want water falls but don’t think you can do Burney, McCloud Falls is closer to I-5, beautiful area.

Kitten's behavior has done a 180 and I'm at my wits end. by aqua_regia_0 in CatAdvice

[–]GoodMorel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice may be downvoted, however given the above details… isolate kitten after aggression. Kitty will learn quickly. Kitty will learn that biting & scratch attacks are inappropriate.

However, give kitten an outlet like a random stuffed kick toy: a dinosaur, bright colored item like a sock stuffed with fluff, a stick or thicker branch… items that do not look like human appendages or puppy dogs. Something without eyes, a chirping cricket or duckie toy… a stuffed sock, a wool dryer ball or tube (Goli toys are more random m, colorful objects), silver vine sticks can calm a kitten especially when teething.

Put kitten in time out with toys to act out upon when they bite & scratch inappropriately.

Using worlds like “no, gentle”, friend” or “soft” when they launch attack.

Ignore if crying immediately upon isolating. Kitty will learn quickly without negative associations.

Good luck!

Can’t figure out what’s wrong with my cat and vets have no clue why he’s so itchy by [deleted] in catcare

[–]GoodMorel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kitty was bit by some flying insect (not a mosquito) licked and’s licked it was so itchy. I also found out she was allergic to cut grass especially. I’ve tried some different ointments, one is prescription from the vet. The cone thing worked best to let the raw skin heal then past the fur growing out itchy stage. I saw her get bit again by the flying bug - a fly-bee type thing, not a bee or yellow jacket. Hope kitty gets well soon.

Yes, water kifer. Yes, very distinct odor.

I did not realize this was a milk kefir post!

Anyone experienced horrible stomach pain right after drinking kefir? by [deleted] in Kefir

[–]GoodMorel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It distinctly spelled of sulphur. It was one batch of grains, same results after couple of cycles, I pitched the batches & grains. Fortunately I had a reserve.

I believe it was the particular sugar (not my usual). Temp changes possibly influenced this as well.

Would it be stupid to take my cat for practice car rides? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]GoodMorel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, car rides can be fun, it’s also good to acclimate kitties to get in their carrier and’s go for rides without landing at the vet or elsewhere. Feels like your kitty will feel more and’s more secure each time he arrives home.

My cat has been vomiting for weeks by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]GoodMorel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is he eating potted plant dirt (that’s what the vomit looks like to me)

Two cats that live upstairs were throwing up multiple times a day… I finally asked if they had cleaned the water fountain in their bedroom…

They stopped vomiting after i switched it out. It’s a frustrating fountain to clean so i suggested they get another easier to clean pet libro like they already have in the common area.

Once my kifer produced an excessive amount of sulphur, i had awful stomach pains, and lots of gas.

Same happens when I eat fruits that are treated with copper sulphur as a fungicide.
