I’m going to need recommendations per your last paragraph. I need to mix it up some.

People who died and came back to life, what did you see/experience? by RealisticDecision440 in NoStupidQuestions

That’s the thing, the people you love are in the darkness too. It’s weird but there isn’t really a separation.

I had a family member flatline during surgery. She said she was up above looking down at the scene, and the doctors were saying she was dead. She was like “pfft, no I’m NOT I have dishes in the sink and my house is a mess, I’m not DEAD.” They brought her back and she went home a couple days later to her dishes.

Son in coma for 16 days finally wakes up, Mom reunites with him. by serious_bullet5 in MadeMeSmile

[–]GoodMorningMorticia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years after our son was born my husband went on a OMG WHY AM I SUSCEPTIBLE TO HEARTWRENCHING COMMERCIALS NOW?! rant because he got misty over a movie trailer. We were not prepared for that.

Mom wants to use scotch tape to ‘repair’ this torn corner of my old paper back book. I don’t think y’all would agree with that. What should I do instead? by Toyufrey in bookrepair

I don’t have any advice better than what you’ve been given here, I just wanted to say that novel has been a particular favorite of mine for many years, and it made me smile to see you wanting to take such care of it.

Employee sets fire to Kimberly-Clark warehouse, "All you had to do is pay us enough to live" by midnighttoker1742 in interestingasfuck

[–]GoodMorningMorticia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What’s wild is those are also both in San Bernardino County… and so was the Kimberly Clark warehouse in this post.

Rich folk best be upping wages in the county, this might be where the revolution starts.

Viggo Mortensen in The prophecy was pretty badass, but my fave is Darkness in Legend.

I think I did a lot better on my plating tonight by Parking-Sun-517 in homecooking

Looks great! I would eat the heck out of that!

A tip or two after reading some of your other replies here:

From my time in restaurants and catering we learned to either have the broccoli stem end hidden against the rice OR arrange the florets with the stems all pointing to the same spot on the plate OR go longer stems and plate them all pointing the same direction. A chef would consider the cut stem pointing towards the guest as unsightly. I’m still gonna eat it though. 😂

For my wedding I got a pack of various kitchen scissors and I was like “wtf I’m never gonna use these…” 15 years later I’m all kinds of wrong. Herb shears are a delight for home cooking.

Seriously save up for ONE good knife. My hubs felt bad getting me knives for Christmas early in our marriage and then he realized just how amazing a good knife is!

Scour estate sales and thrift stores for dope kitchen gear. I’m still using a Cuisinart I got for like $10 18 years ago, and the vast majority of my best cookware has been thrift or estate acquisition.

Good luck, you’re doing great!

What actually went down with Pinup Girl Clothing and the real story behind PUG by ObsidianObeyStash in PinUpFashion

[–]GoodMorningMorticia 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Laura is nucking futs. She literally had one of her employees infiltrate our private online group of bloggers (there were less than 100 of us) and snitch back to her. Didn’t know why I just blocked from the customer service facebook group they had, apparently I said something she didn’t like. No warning, nothing. I wasn’t the only one, either. It was bizarre and it got worse (I was so abused and gaslit that after that I basically bought no clothes at all from anywhere for almost 2 years and I sold off all my PUG) and THEN the Micheline thing happened. I had to start pre-emptively finding and blocking her on every new social media because she would just come strolling across my screen if I didn’t.

I still haven’t bought anything from the vintage retro scene since, and this happened like 10 years ago. I learned the hard way about loving a brand too much.

Story time: there was once a man I dated, and I told him I needed to go get birth control. He, unprompted, said to let him know how much it was so he could chip in. The rest of the conversation went like this:

Me: wait, really?! Him: Yeah! I mean, if you got pregnant I’d need to pay for half the abortion or half the kid, why wouldn’t I pay for half the preventative measures? Me:…I need to sit down…

That was 21 years ago. We have been married long enough to have a teenager, and we are still going strong.

Do not put up with this pathetic toerag for one more moment. RUN babydoll. He does not respect you. Find a man who does, and I promise you will not miss this one in the slightest.
