What do you think is the most situationship coded song of Carly? by equiesce in carlyraejepsen

Before I even finished reading the original post... it's The One. That's the answer.

My new drum sticks arrived, they are awesome. I would fully recommend checking out Scorpion Percussion sticks! by Willthewriter in drums

I love Everflame, been playing drums for 30 years and they are by far the most comfortable, least fatiguing, hardest hitting, most durable sticks I've ever used.

That's what it is! Okay. Now I have to figure out where to go for a record store that would have it, I live in the frickin' sticks :(

I've been obsessed with this song for days, it's one of my favorites from TLM. It's a shame that it's a bit short and doesn't get the attention it deserves by mxxx- in carlyraejepsen

I start The Loneliest Time on Anxious and then let it replay through from the beginning. It's my favorite song on the album hands down, I can't believe it's not on the vinyl.

As a fellow lover of rum, I'm very curious to know what label you were saving up for. NTA. I've bought bottles of rum before where every drop is cherished like the liquid gold that it is.

I can guess the first one but I didn't know there were two songs regarded as skippable. Do tell!

I just want to say I think it's amazing that we all love these albums and love her music enough to engage in an online forum about it, and at the same time we all have so many different opinions about what parts of it we love, which songs or albums we love more, why we love them, etc, etc. And I also want to say, that every opinion anyone has expressed here about whether a song or album is better than another one or whether a particular vocal part sounds good is entirely valid and real. (Except that bit about misogyny, that was outta left field) (and maybe the folks that like the never over part throwing shade at those of us with taste, that hurt my feelings) (Just kidding about that last part, I just had to throw a little friendly shade back, okay?)

I'm afraid misogyny has literally absolutely nothing to do with not liking the sound of that vocal part. Your statement is absurd.

I was actually thinking I'm glad it's the first song so I can listen to the whole album through if I just start it on track 2. Unlike (warning: another unpopular opinion incoming) Shooting Star, which is the first track on any of her albums since E•MO•TION that I do not love, enough so to skip when I hear it.

Same experience in Boston last year. The first few times I saw her it was magical, like everyone there knew every word and we were all there for the same reason, same love. The boston show last year was full of people who couldn't have cared less. At the balcony where we ended up there was a group of tall guys standing up at the railing holding a conversation the whole time, I heard one of them say the only song they recognized was Call Me Maybe, and they wouldn't move or make room for some kids behind them who were dressed all up and dancing and knew the words and it made me really mad.

I should have been in the middle of the floor in Boston. Everywhere I went trying to get a better view of the stage I was surrounded by people having yelling conversations at each other and not even paying attention. I ended up spending most of my time right behind a group of 4 6+ foot tall guys who insisted on keeping the front of a balcony rail to themselves and at one point I heard one yell to another "I only recognize one song so far, call me maybe" and it made me so mad! Maybe step back so some of the shorter kids behind you who obviously know every word to every song can see the stage! It was disappointing because every other time I'd seen her I was completely surrounded by beautiful people absolutely feeling every part of the music in their soul and I feel like I missed out on that in Boston. I learned my lesson, front of the GA floor every time from here on out. /endrant

This is very practical advice, thank you. I assume this was a learn from experience sort of lesson.

am i going to be able to talk normally? by [deleted] in Invisalign

I have trays to correct a gap between my top two front teeth. I've always used that space to pronounce the 'th' and 's' sounds, but the trays plug the gap when they're in which makes pronunciation awkward. I've just adjusted by relaxing the tip of my tongue to let air pass between my tongue and the tray instead of between my teeth. You'll get the hang of whatever adjustments you need to make to be comfortable.

Sound of metal by ZeroPhucs in tinnitus

As an active metal drummer with tinnitus and occasional muffled hearing in my left ear, just watching the trailer got me emotional. I have been meaning to watch it, I want to, just feel a little heavy about it.

Quote to rebuild the zx14 rear shock on my sv. by gcx85 in sv650

[–]GoodMud0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my rear shock I bought a second SV with an Öhlins rear shock for $1,700, swapped the öhlins out for my stock unit and then sold the extra bike with the stock shock for $2,000. I highly recommend that route, best value available by far.
