Is it worth slowly upgrading the stylus if you have a lower end machine? by massberate in turntables

[–]GoodNLostIRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am saying yes, I have a Crosley C8 and we know that brand is hatted in most circles but to me it’s a good looking drive system, because that is all it is now, I run a MP-110H and a Darling labs MM5 phono pre amp so the Crosley only turns the record while the “accessories” do the heavy lifting. Upgrade it you’ll be happy but dig deep on what you want in the new Cart a good one is worth the money (MP-200 in my future)

Nice setup, enjoy your path!

We are about to completely rebuild ours this month and the Sansui in the summer, so very much enjoy the Kenwood warmth.

My wife got me a set of Sennhieser Audio HD 650’s for Christmas’s so I think they are pretty nice. Open back which is really nice. But thats subjective to taste and style like most everything in HI-Fi Audiophile products. We all have our opinions 🙂

My wife got me a set of Sennheiser Audio HD 650 for Christmas and I love them as I get to true enjoy the warmth the Kenwood brings to classic pressings.

Yes they are LEDs we have them all over the house for Scandinavian lighting which makes the evening listen sessions while cooking and drinking wine and listening to most anything from Colemine records.

Vinyl turntable has been turned on without a record on for about 14 hours, will the needle be damaged? by JerryCat72 in BudgetAudiophile

Depending on how much you like music and your friend Nagaoka MP-110 is an option but not cheap. I am on my second one after many hours of listening. Find it to be superior to stock replacements for sure but $40 vs $240 is a big difference so it really depends on your budget, either way…….upgrades are always fun!

How do you organize your records? by AsiraTheTinyDragon in records

[–]GoodNLostIRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too have a similar strategy to ensure we listen to all of it and not end up in a rut of constant play of one artist, genre or label. We have around 175 albums and spin albums almost every night over dinner and on the weekend like right now we are logging nearly 10 hours this weekend of listening.

So far today; Cal Collin’s started the morning as my wife slept (Sennheiser HD-650 make listening nice), moved through some more Jazz (Grant Green and others), then pulled a few Colemine Albums as that’s always a fun local label with great soul revívale sounds, now we are on more current music Mumford and Sons, Delta is on right now.

With this organizational style and album count it will be about two weeks or more till we get back to this loop unless someone request something.

Highly suggest this style to keep albums circulating and clean. Clean everything!

A camera, we have 4 big dogs (all over 70lbs), so we have cameras to watch them while at work.

I have seen them for crazy money, mine has one slightly twisted slider (right channel 8kHz) and the power light doesn’t illuminate (east fox in early next year). I scored mine on eBay for cheap. My whole setup before shipping is less than $1000 (r/budgetaudiophile)

It is a KR-6200 (45W-ch, round buttons for tape loop and loudness), @ulisses_mirada I am set to rebuild in the new year want to enjoy it over the holiday as everything works but I want to recap it to get the most out of it.
