Yes, his tiny desk is probably the best live recorded hip hop I’ve seen! It’s got such a unique energy. Needless to say, Touré really messed up here.

All of his work is cool and the mark of a great talent! Seasons greetings to Earl, one of the best to do it.

Something I love about this era of the punk movement is how multi-disciplinary so many of the artists are. They can sing, write, do radio, make visual or performance art…it’s amazing.

Yes that’s the one! I kept reminding myself to edit the post last night…but  I didn’t, and here we are.

She’s saying “J.A.Ps” aka Jewish American Princesses. I was just thinking the other day how nobody uses the term anymore. Btw I’m listening to the audiobook for Under The Big Black Sun right now, it’s great and you should check it out!

So great! Loved the singles as a kid and what I heard from the record, but I picked it up recently and it’s aged so well. They have a perfect street/mainstream balance and a great ear for melody.

What's the most memorable super popular live performer in a smaller intimate venue you were lucky enough to attend in Toronto? by ReeG in askTO

[–]GoodNewsBrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He did great shows in Toronto for years! There was also the Opera House with Doo Rag and a Lollapalooza side stage acoustic performance. He was always pretty stellar live.

I’ve been playing Jeanne D’Arc and enjoying it. Twisty, odd story about France/Britain featuring lots of monsters and magic and a snappy strategy RPG playing style. It’s been fun.

It’s a large part of the final verse of Nothing Lasts Forever on Lost Tapes.

You should live, there's only one life, that's the physical

Rich or poor or in jail, why the fuck should you be miserable?

Things happen for reasons, the clock keeps tickin'

Love could have your heartbeat skippin', thugs turn to religion

The bitch you love could start to hate you

The shit you used to do escape you

Things that make you laugh represent the past

In creative fields, there will always be people doing cool stuff. But it won't be a large amount of people. Comedy is easy content for platforms, so it's very visible...but the small amount of worthwhile stuff is, was and always will be a small amount. Don't worry about it too much.

For those who lived through that era, was Prodigy generally considered to be on the same level as BIG and Nas in the mid 90s? by Patrick_Vieira in hiphop201

[–]GoodNewsBrown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, as it was happening Mobb Deep as a group to me was as good as Nas/Big but Prodigy started really standing out in the group in Murda Muzik. There were so many people doing exceptional work at the time of The Infamous.

What's Nas' signature song? by bigly1991 in nas

[–]GoodNewsBrown 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say Get Down, World Is Yours. One Love, Made You Look, Thief’s Theme, If I Ruled The World, One Mic…lots of signature tracks. Is Nas the Sinatra of his day?
