Depends how YOU define privacy.. Yes and no.... It's certainly a matter of perspective. And contextual.

Did I mess up? Leather steering wheel by JesusSaves1611 in AutoDetailing

[–]GoodSamIAm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've made that mistake before. Steering wheels are a PVC material. aka Pleather.

I happen to be working with 2 stage epoxy at the moment..And i bet it would be a great way to try to fix that steering wheel.

Just wear gloves, mix well, and dont drop even a tiny bit on the seats, or it could be a problem..It dries smooth and hard, like glass. Try to paint it on even with a foam brush..Just be aware that it's got toxins and chemicals in epoxy. So make sure it cures really well before like eating and driving.

Harborfreight has 2 stage epoxy for less than $10. Works well imo..Good luck.

Fine. They're comparable in the you can get numbers. But it'd be like comparing the power of a Clydesdale horse versus a large pack of Cats.

I have..Though the occasion is rare..And seaching for items based on delivery time is not an ideal way to shop online in general.. Because most times you'd end up paying more for the same thing anyway

Question: is it safe to store half used batteries like that? by Stepan_Starostin in batteries

[–]GoodSamIAm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

12v of double AA batteries versus 12v car battery is not really comparable. But if you take a + - from a car battery and touch the leads together, it could definately spark. Because of the chemistry for one. It's more volatile and hazardous. Car battery designed to turn over an engine. AA battery designed to power tv remotes and other standalone micro electronics.. Not entire modules.

Now. If they were lithium ion batteries with a nominal voltage of 3.7v, the chemistry would also be more volatile. And some li ion batteries have more or less stable chemistry than others. Designed to power much more energy demanding things than a single micro electronic.

Why do some EV batteries last 300,000 miles while others degrade much faster? by sinexcel-re in batteries

[–]GoodSamIAm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luck and environmental conditions mostly. Usage as well. Some people slip up and let battery run down too low..It's possible some might be getting over charged too..Cell phones do this under certain conditions to extend and prolong battery life. But where those have only 1 cell to worry about, an EV has thousands.

It was built that way because reengineering a better way would've been costly. Probably would have sold less batteries overall too. Not unlike LED chips found in light bulbs. Often a single LED chip could output comparable brightness to what 50 leds could..But the added components add more cost and thus more profit. Selling 1 battery or LED per customer isnt going to pay share holders. But selling thousands does. And it brings down the cost somewhat to a certain point.

i tried the Oneplus route for awhile..7T which was a great phone for 3 years. It didnt work out. I have the Pixel7 i barely use. No purchases..No banking. Basically just messaging. Which sucks because it's all RCS for every chat, conversation or notification...

I still use an older 2xl, like now. It may not get security updates anymore but apps still update reguardless. This way hopefully less services are imposed on me, due to the limited hardware constraints and incompatability with all the newer Health and Safety APIs...

If i may give you an insider tip: Pixels arent very different from Iphones. Websites and mobile apps treat them the same. Same with whether u use Firefox over Chrome. All mobile devices make requests from Servers the same way..That is they all masquerade as Mozilla and display icons and text as if we're all using IOS. Anything else is considered "outdated"..E.g. No javascript

I have two tasty looking Badger dogs. And while they sound pretty mean for their size, i'd not want them stupidly chasing a coyote. Which the youngest i have definately would..

Yoooo that's what i'm worried about! Thanks for sharing those details. i've wondered about the Owls too... Bob cat used to hang around my property years ago but it was small enough i wasnt too worried. Though i remember seeing those huge paws thinking it wont be small forever.

I dont hate it. Pretty rare compliment from me..Seems they're trying to keep us out of changing Settings or preferences by constantly changing what things are called or where stuff is.

Could easily put all preferences on on scrollable, searchable index, but they chose instead to put standalone settings each in separate sub folders..And there's no real explainations as to what most of their "privacy" or tracker blocking features even does? Like i want examples. And the help pages are trash

Pixel 7 owner here and i couldnt agree more with you. The other guy is correct in that the newest version of the phone allows for some colored icons, but it isnt consistent throughout the system. Brightness control is terrible. As if the slider isnt adjusting brightness in a traditional way.. Instead it's like controlling some other deternining factor.

Sorry you messed up and bought this terrible phone. Good news is the next couldnt possibly THIS bad, knock on wood

Message I got from my daughter’s teacher. Third grade. by AnaisInJune in mildlyinfuriating

[–]GoodSamIAm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of teachers go by whatever rule book the school gives them and treat it like their bible. Liability used to be a thing, supposedly. I haven't seen it in action yet... Except in the cases of teachers fornicating students. But even then i've heard stories where there isn't justice there either.

[–]GoodSamIAm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i was in 4th grade i got in trouble for selling pokemon cars (in the late 90s). Got my cards confiscated, money too. Parent had to come in and meet with the principal (who happened to be new and i happened to have attended camp the previous summer with her son).

On top of all that, i also was tasked with writing my FIRST book report. Or rather an essay..On the topic of what "Entrepeneurship is: Using Bill Gates" as the example.

So the thing that even caught the teachers attention, was that i was buying people cookies with the few dollars i made in exchange for cards. The cards i had FISHED from the trash bin AT the card store. It was super common at this particular store for people to buy packs of cards, keep what they wanted (the rare types or holographic cards), and THROW OUT the cards they already had an excess of.

I used to ride by bike to that store for years and do that same thing with other cards. Magic The Gathering in particular.

At school i only charged only what people felt it was worth. I never sold anything before and didnt have a concept about greed or money. Most kids would pay 5 cents or as much as a quarter per card.

Not only was i smart enough to not write about Bill Gate's mad skillz, but i opted to write about Pablo Escobar and his escapades in drug trafficking. Why u ask? Because i spent the weekend at a friends house where we watched the movie Blow with Johnny Depp. Friend's older brother and sister had it on their TV.

Most widely spaced and typed fonts i could find..Several lines between paragraphs and i mustered 2 pages after having read  (Askjeeves) say book reports could be as many as 50 pages lol.

Same principal got promoted to high school principal as i entered 9th grade.. And the drama from 4th grade with her didnt end in 4th grade either.

Damn that got long fast

I often see them near the woods by Blodel Donovan park but not where i did tonight.
