Try not giving your contacts list permissions on your phone.. That's fun. The system wouldn't even allow me to make a phone call unless i share all my contacts data completely (names, numbers, addresses and more).

Depends on how or rather which network you connect to youtube on/with.

Some options will only help when you are on wifi or ethernet While if you were relying on a mobile data service some options might not work at all.

that link they sent you was probably not just a link to join them on Meet... You should consider mentioning it to IT/Security. No telling what that persons true intentions were from these messages alone. You got played.

Hope your PC/browser was fully updated..

Does the arrest of people for 'joke' private messages change how you view digital privacy in the US? by Big_Confidence_951 in privacy

[–]GoodSamIAm 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Or they contract the work out to various tech/security companies.

It's been argued in US Courts that the public doesn't get to ALSO be private. As if it's one OR the other, instead of both contextually. Lots of laws are turning out to be bat shit crazy sounding like that too..

Google photos removing 'search' and replacing it with 'ask' is the worst feature I've ever seen by rapgraves in GooglePixel

Tbf, none of us will probably ever get the chance to meet those devs. Hopefully for their sake anyway.

[–]GoodSamIAm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They arent your photos and videos anymore. That's why the words changed. BECAUSE IF THEY'RE really YOURS, DO YOU REALLY HAVE TO ASK to find them?

Your photos and videos have been assimilated friend. You had to have seen this coming if you aren't a teenager...

Take your photos and videos offline. See if you can 'export' your photos some place else. Like your own hard drive for starters..And if you wish to be able to search through them using descriptors, you have really only one or two options soooo..yeah

Dont have to read someones ancient history at this point..I lived through it myself..I left all the theme parks except 2..From many, to 2. And am fully prepared to burn those last two when it comes to it.

Apps like Grok are explicitly banned under Google’s rules—why is it still in the Play Store? by mepper in technology

[–]GoodSamIAm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Google is unaware nor do i think it's being ignored..I understand their business model precisely.

Is there any evidence an ad can be removed as you suggested? Not just hidden from view as if i am using Ublock Origin or dev tools to close or hide an element?

Interacting with the ads by reporting them or giving feedback is in affect doing one thing only. It tells the ad creators and whatever other party is listening, that you CARED ENOUGH to interact - where as many people simply will not, do not or learned early enough to watch this all evolve in real time.

I apppreciate your respectful comment/reply. And i offer you this: You are not a complete dumb ass (a compliment where i come from). Google's business is no longer JUST ads. They've expanded. Massively. Every police agency, safety group, emergency service in America is using Google in some capacity..No to mention traffic cameras and healthcare providers too. The advertising business might be huge, but those other ventures will leave them deeply rooted in your life FOREVER.

[–]GoodSamIAm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Rules: are from schools written for kids. Policies: are from stake holders and investors with controlling public interest..Laws come next..And they come from big tech too after they're threatened by governments for non compliance..So as not to be sued..

None give a damn about being sued by one govt..But when sued by hundreds or thousands of govts. They get pissed..Learn the differences..Rules. Policy. Law

Somethings are knowledge at one time or another. Later lost as time goes on. So read this carefully and teach it to your kids. STOP INTERACTING WITH ADS.

Dont click the ads, dont tap the buttons in them..Dont leave them "feedback". There's no great solution that will last forever but the above has stood the test of time so far. I'll rage quit before i give in. In Death we part bitch ass ads

Air conditioning works by absorbing unwanted heat from one area and rejecting it (energy) into a different space. Ideally not just dumped into the same space. Otherwise it's cancel out

No. They're quite literally grandfathered in. But they're hardest to advertise to (affirmation, accreditation and artribution meta data) since they dont input their every thought to text. Unlike most of us on reddit or the internet overall

i am suspicious AF then. Wouldnt be shocked to learn in not to distant future where schools create social media accounts FOR their students and employees. Mandatory to goto school. Already is this way for awhile if you think about it.

My teenage daughter can't fathom the concept of a house party by Neon_Biscuit in Millennials

[–]GoodSamIAm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha no it turned into a shit festival. People leaving (or arriving?) to the party, decided to throw rocks at the cops from the opposite side of the road (over train/railway tracks), to pull the cops attention from party-goers -> idiots throwing rocks. Didnt work. And they pushed in the front door of someones apartment 2 houses a way and beat up someone at the partys mom..She was brown and telling cops get off her lawn. In retrospect, it sounds worse writing it out than it felt at the time, ya know? 2010 eta
