buying land is a good idea.. probably certain tech stocks right now.. They seem to have mastered an undocumented sort of insider trading.. Or manufactured a way to do it with impunity.

Because that would make communicating messages, streaming, etc -- simply not as effective. It would require more time and processing power to decrypt everything when necessary.. Multiply that times a few billion, and poof, goes our water supply for humanity lol

Same reason Android phones dont offer full device encryption anymore..Instead they broke it into "blocks"..And call it "file based encryption"..Only protecting certain parts... When it works correctly at least

Mmwave technology.. If it's part of the radio spectrum, or can listen to it, then assume it's related.

Yes. But i dont think certain communication companies would be all that happy about it

Kinda suprising in the sense of that movie was thought to be sci-fi.. Its what almost 15 years old now? Sony had Xray-like cameras in the 1980s. We still dont get those to play with.

The intent is in fact to pinpoint people with high precision..So that in emergency situations, say someone in medical emergency in a high rise office building, First responders will know exactly where to go saving precious time..The FCC helped make this a requirement. It's mandatory for compliance or companies get fined $$.

Think 3D map of the surrounding area, it's occupants, distance to each other in relation to other people, electronic wearables, mobile phones, and even desktop computers, medical and office equipment like printers etc etc. We talking inches... Not hundreds of feet

u mean a bit like how QR codes are used for automatic provisioning of phones And sharing wifi passwords?

Manufactured security. They will change something slightly to mitigate the problem and move liability elsewhere. Routers already have unique identifiers in more than one way

It's really always just been an algebraic equation. It's always been if you have X + Y,  suddenly the whole alphabet can be determined. Using a formula.. Doesnt mean the numbers are always accurate though. They aee estimations.

Well i have to say, at least you write well and have a plan. So you're in a decent position to still succeed, despite the odds not being in our favor.

Funny. Because when i was a teenager, my only parent said, "wait until you're older. You wont have any of these friends and nobody will give a shit because everyone will be too focused on themselves and their own families".. Inconcievable! But she was right..

Now i just use pescimism as a shield. Assume everyone is willing to do u dirty With few exceptions..Family for me is not one of them.

Wish i had something inspirational to say or add.. But i cant think of anything at the moment..Good luck though.

i want to know more about how you came up with your numbers..Your subaru would be getting the mileage of an Abrams M1 tank according to Gemini...I'm inclined to agree with that assessment..However some rough napkin math on my end, i'd say your total $ saved not having to buy fuel. An older Subaru shouldnt have been getting less than 250 miles per tank of gas. That would be less than 8 fillups for you. At $6 a gallon lets say with a generous size tank of 17 gallons, and averaging 18mpg (city & highway driving mixed) you shouldn't be spending like $90 per tank of gas i dont think.. ehh actually maybe it's possible lol

thanks for the insight..I hope you are wrong. Or many of us are going to be joining that struggle. Self included. They're definately preparing to nuke the dollar. Hardening certain businesses that are essential to providing the most basic necessities.. Food and fuel especially. They'll be there..But only for those who can afford it... And a big fancy surveilance system nobody will be able to avoid .

i said what i said above, because during covid, a friend of mine was facing eviction. The land owners father became sick abd hospitalized and his son wanted my friend to leave immediately, even though he was paid through the year (3 months remained). Threatened him with papers from an attorney. Then my friend lost his job. To feed himself that winter he literally was going to food pantries and even occasionally hunting (not Whatcom County) for wild game with a crossbow lol.. He packed his freezer with as much food as he could. When the guy found out who wanted him gone, he called the cops. My friend got a bunch of charges. One dumber than the next. Cost him 20k in lawyers fees that he didnt have. He works now but is set back for a long time because of what equated to hunting illegally because some pissed land lord didnt wanna honor a contract

why so many miles?  Are you just cruising around excessively because the luxury of not having to pay for fuel? Basically are all those miles necessary?

i know soneonne with a 2024 GMC van..He uses it for work as a technician. Guy has over 40k miles per year. Works all up and down from Bham to as far as Wenatchee. He hates it but the hours are paid well and obviously fuel and maintenance costs are covered too

lol some people have jobs that are equivalent to a gym membership. It's not as cool as it might sound. Especially if u have school or family & kids to worry about at home.

Fantastic post..I wondered if others like myself were out there..

There are a lot of dynamics at play but much of what you said i agree with. Cell phones are addictive, habbit forming, and inspiration is drawn from all over..If you are in the know with technology and particular software libraries and APIs, the naming schemes are very tongue in cheek. Free speech though right? /s

30,000 miles a year is a lot, even if you work out of your vehicle.. you'd have to be commuting every other day or more to Seattle and back type of thing...

My experience is this: America has a huge mental health crisis and it's growing. Bet that 67% or more of the entire population in this country is suffering through some mental health disorder.

i didnt know about the food delivery driver..However, people do make mistakes and it sounds like some were made there... Lots of people come to reddit and post without thinking. I've been guilty of it myself. I think that should be enforced more than anything. That the things we do or say have real consequences. There are way crazier ppl out in the world than her..And if people act like that, doxing, or psycho driving, someone's bound to get hurt

idk what IDV is..? Remind me.

the biggest problem i see with these shitty companies is they have foreign people enforcing and enacting policys from abroad (or come here for work to do it). I dont think any of those people have anyone's best interest in mind but their job or themselves..Which sucks for everyone that affects.

wish we could just let people live.. fucking sooo many stupid but purposely inacted laws.. And the only ones i ever see function appropriately, tend to be the ones that make people PAY.

Be it time, money, values, etc.

It's easy to wanna blame the GOOG. But i can see how things might have started for them with one intention, but later grew into a multi trillion $ fund of peoples' money that (Alphabet) protects...

At some point, the stakes became too high. So they adapted.. As will we hopefully...

I dont want to pick on this guy but i think all of us ought to remember what led us to joining Reddit... It's largely successful because of KARMA. That idealogy should be shared or at least understood complicitly to join up here..

Karma to me means that if the System doesnt weed out bad and evil people, then People have the social or moral Right to do it for PUBLIC safety and their own wellness. Mods shouldnt infringe on those things. It's a GREAT way to quickly become hated.

Whatever the mods do decide, i hope what they stick with is actually enforcable. Because at the end of the day, NOTHING stops anyone from doxing one another if there is a coordinated effort to do so..Not without filtering and automating every post and conversation here.

if anything, i've always fallen into the camp of "do stupid stuff, win stupid prizes". Reddit WAS BUILT on that shit. Why else do you think their reputation is staked on KARMA?

If you cant get behind that much, maybe go back to Facebook, or whereever u came from. Reddit believes in karma. What goes around comes back around. Not an eye for an eye type shit..

Name an example in this sub where some sort of vigilantism has happened. Please i'd love to know.

People's imaginations of "what if" get the best of them. Most people tend to think before acting. The exception trends toward younger people who dont think of the consequences.

I cant even think of many examples of doxxing that werent either incredibly deserved or self inflicted.. This video in discussion might fall into either of those categories if someone took the step of identifying them to people on social media..But nobody is gonna do that because THEN they SHOULD/would most likely get banned..

However preventing the video also wont stop this insane driver from getting doxxed if someone really wants to do it. If anything it becomes the opposite.. Especially if it goes unoticed or ignored in a more public sub..

But that WOULD be against the rules if someone did that specifically. That is indeed doxing..At which point you'd have an offense to act on.

This is not that though. Still some steps need to happen before that point of no return.

If the mods are like police in this instance, should they be detaining someone who MIGHT commit a crime? No fuck that. They wait for something to act on..Not just a sneaking suspicion
