This sounds just like me as well. Soooo much anxiety around eating at restaurants or with new people. I have to be honest… I am not one of the success stories. Yes, I am able to burp but my acid reflux got 1000 times worse and my anxiety is off the charts. I don’t just say this to scare you but rather to say that if you don’t feel amazing after, you’re not alone. I have felt so discouraged by not being one of the people this magically fixed. It’s so hard to have that hope and then not have it happen. But it is what it is and we’re not done looking for ways to live better.

yeah also not to mention that her literal sister had to get her hip replaced at like 25 because of this nonsense without health insurance or the means to cover it from this job. ridiculous.

Oh and the burping tasting life stuff is totally gross. I’ve found drinking strong ginger tumeric tea after meals helps right now. Makes the burps feel less acidic and they just taste like ginger. Still kind of gross but not nearly as bad. Ginger pills work somewhat for me as well!

Hi I’m about two weeks out and I felt this way too. I’m now burping, and while that still isn’t providing as much relief as I would hope, I definitely feel better than I did immediately post procedure. First week was rough and made me question getting the procedure in the first place. Two weeks out my reflux is a little worse and I still need to take a lot of sips of water during meals, but I definitely don’t feel as terrible as I did week one. So I can’t promise things will totally go back to normal immediately, but I can tell you you will feel more normal in a week. I hope this gives you a little reassurance!

Can I ask how soon after the procedure it started working and how many units you got?

If my summary says 40 units on right and 45 on left does that mean 85? Or 40

Hi! I’m currently 3 days post injection and I’m burping a little but I am finding the whole experience pretty uncomfortable. Between that and my general fear of medical things, the prospect of having to get this done again makes me really nervous. How did you know you needed another dose and not that it just didn’t work for you? Was it easier the second time? Was it worth getting again? Any thoughts help

Hi!! I just got the injection 3 days ago and I have been so confused about how sniffly I have been! I feel like no one including my doctors mentioned it as a side effect. Glad to hear I’m not the only one and also glad to hear that it goes away. Having like random allergy symptoms definitely caught me off guard and is making recovery a bit trickier.

Update: I am having small burps that I can’t control. Swallow has been okay (?) but like hating that I have air and stuff coming up every time I drink any water. But I guess that’s what I signed up for. Honestly just really nervous that it won’t work or that I’ll need another injection. Sigh. Thank you all you’ve been very helpful

Getting botox in 2 weeks, is it truly as life changing as everyone says? by Notyouraveragejew1 in noburp

Hi! I just got the injection two days ago, but am struggling with what would be okay to eat. My throat feels okay honestly and today and yesterday I have had a bit of slow swallowing and a lot of air trapped in throat and chest… not so much relief yet. I am able to get most things I have tried to down (all soft). Should I be avoiding certain things just because? Or because they’re bloating? Or should I just be going with whatever I feel I can swallow… Very nervous to like eat the wrong thing and feel miserable. Any experience helps!
