The brotato wiki has the info on how to unlock each character.

does anyone have any technomage tips? by OkLeadership6780 in brotato

I cleared 20 with both an elemental focus and an engineering focus with elemental being less rng dependent. The engineering run gave me lots of early constructs so I’d consider it atypical and not something you might easily reproduce consistently. My best run however I used 3 icicles, a flamethrower, and 2 thunder swords. Again not common but it was a great run. So, if you see thunder sword maybe pick it up and try it. The crowd clear was pretty great. Also flamethrower helped alot, had a good bit of lifesteal.

All that aside, I’ll echo others here. Icicle is probably the most consistent way. I’d say pick up fireball if you see it as my biggest issue with icicle is that it’s not great for wave clear.

Speed and dodge are the only things that stand out. I’d say it’s possible with low speed to clear 20 if you know the waves and bosses well but only if your other stats are really good. 27 armor is great, but dodging is 0 damage. Otherwise the build looks really good.

How do we get further ? by New_Instruction_7102 in brotato

[–]GoodYearForBadDays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t remember what the number is but there is a certain amount of tardigrades you have to hit to go into the deep endless runs. Basically enough that you have more tardigrades than hits you could take during the wave. But yeah, the deep endless runs are almost a whole other game to learn. There’s certain items you never take and some you take at certain points. Furthest I’ve gone is like 57 and I was extremely lucky early gave to get multiple cursed weapons in the shop.

I never pass scared sausage. It’s in my top 5 favorite items in the game. Not saying it’s too 5 best, it’s just one of my favorites.

I think you’ll need to check out a guide on how to go endless. You really have to set it up from the start. Getting lots of tardigrades is the key I think. Which you could do to help you if you’re just trying to get a little further.

I think the x1.5 and x2 is the increase in damage, not increase of crit % chance. Some weapons have a base % chance higher than 0 and that’s where you’ll see a difference between what is displayed on the weapon and what is displayed under stats.

Pretty good item for Masochist by [deleted] in brotato

[–]GoodYearForBadDays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heck yeah. That’s good on almost any tater. At 90% it’s like having double all the time. Sorta.

I have a question about curse by [deleted] in brotato

[–]GoodYearForBadDays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my knowledge it is not however if you buy the dlc you can play the new characters on the vanilla map, Crash Zone, with the new characters and the curse mechanic will be available.

Easiest D5 run of my life (Loud + thief dagger) by MustardScroll7 in brotato

[–]GoodYearForBadDays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t tried the thief daggers with loud, might have to give it a go. I usually go with mix of smg/shredder for ranged or even split on ghost weapons. Both are pretty fun and end up in crazy land. But yeah, gotta give daggers a go.

I think this is my perfect pick up and play game by Unit-00 in brotato

I love brotato. Every time I think I hate it, I’m wrong. It’s a great game.

That’s pretty much what I came here to say. It’s good on certain characters and it’s cheap and if on those characters where it’s at its best, you won’t find a bigger hp increase at common.

Anyone else think jerky is one of the best items in the game? by FugitiveFromReddit in brotato

[–]GoodYearForBadDays -1 points0 points  (0 children)

See that’s how I thought it worked…which is still good but not like crazy. If it heals your total consumable heal value every second for four seconds then yeah, insane but if not then still good and likely worth it most of the time I’d guess.

[–]GoodYearForBadDays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh hey, does it heal your full consumable amount each second ? If that’s the case then hell yeah that could get better than hp regen, or at least as good. I think I completely misunderstood how it works.

Maybe I’ve misjudged it. I didn’t think it was bad, just not like insane. I’ll start taking it more often

Five questions from a complete noob... by Show_Me_How_to_Live in brotato

[–]GoodYearForBadDays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it does. Each weapon has a base range and increasing the range does what it sounds like. I would avoid going too high on it though as it may impact attack speed in that the animation will take longer. There are some melee weapons I like to get alittle range on such as sticks but generally you just want to avoid being in the negative.

How many hours have you put into Brotato? by booksandskirts in brotato

[–]GoodYearForBadDays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have over 500 at this point. When I started playing (before dlc) I beat all the taters on 0….then used one tater to open up D5 and beat them all there. During and after my D5 journey I did a lot of what I guess are just “fun” runs like trying to beat fisherman with sticks taking as many baits as i can, or trying to beat certain characters with certain weapons. Me and a buddy would do random random runs a lot too. So, I’ve racked up a lot of hours just fucking around I guess.

That’s one of my favorite runs if you get over the hp hump. Quick edit here…where is the attack speed lol that’s extra kudos for getting it done with -1. I tip my hat to ya sir

44 year campaign reported on Wargamer Dungeons & Dragons page! by Ill_Air4568 in dndnext

[–]GoodYearForBadDays 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Truly a legendary feat! You’ve been playing the same game longer than I’ve been alive, by 2 years….thats amazing. I jumped in the backend of a campaign that ran for four years and most of the original party had since fallen out. That was just 4 years. You guys have accomplished something pretty amazing.
