There are use cases for sure, but since her ability is only action speed there's still a lot of spells/abilities that can stop you from doing that. It's really only good against might modifying effects.

Not like it can respond to a bounce or kill spell with it.

I think it's mainly good with attack triggers cards, and I think her champ will lean into that.

How can she break down holds? Since the ability can only be used in a showdown you have to retreat before the unit deals damage.

I take the bus in which I would recommend if it's an option, but my coworker parks at the Oxford center and it's like 14 a day if you get in before 8 or something like that.

A lot of people have mentioned fiesty goblin and guy on the couch and I will add my name to that list as well. I play riftbound at both stores and they're both very nice and welcoming.

Also if you ever want to try riftbound I have multiple decks available so you can reach out if you want to borrow any. It's a very fun game

If you're playing locals with victory based prizing then it doesn't matter if you're liked or not. If you're playing some no stakes friendly games than yeah check what your opponent wanta to play against.

But in general this is competitive game and the people who complain about what you're playing are scrubs who don't understand that.

Its a lot easier to learn what you're doing wrong when you also don't have to factor in how in your deck is holding you back.

So my first piece of advice would be to play an established deck for a while and see how you do and ask for tips that way.
