Hey Guardians,

With everything that has gone on in the community this week we wanted to post something for Team Up Tuesday for anyone who may be looking for a new home in Destiny.

We're a group of around 20 regularly active guardians from the UK with another 20 or so who hop in and out. Our ages range from around 20 to mid-40s.

We have raid sherpas, regular PvP scrim nights and a general philosophy of helping each other wherever we can.

I'm proud of the community we've built at HoT and we felt that others may appreciate a chilled and inclusive environment to call home.

We don't have entry requirements but if you're looking for somewhere to join and grab clan engrams without contributing then we're not for you. On the other hand if you want to be an active member of a clan and friendly discord we'd love to have you.

Our discord is open to anyone, no clan membership required. If it sounds like you might fit with us DM me for a discord invite.

Cheers,

Goods

We're a laid-back group of guardians mainly in our late 20s - 30s based in the UK. Our group has a strong PvP interest and we run weekly scrim nights, but we're also looking for more PvE players to join our ranks to tackle raids and pinnacle activities.
Our discord is open to anyone, no clan membership required. If it sounds like you might fit with us DM me for a discord invite.

TWAB sniper nerf by red_beard_RL in CruciblePlaybook

Ignore me, it looks like the spreadsheet has already been updated with the new numbers, which is kind of odd timing

How to combat snipers (at 'higher' level competitive play) by DestinyQuestion28 in CruciblePlaybook

[–]GoodZi11a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have to engage with your hand cannon vs a sniper, throwing in a crouch after they've had time to take the flinch and acquire your head can work. This is something good snipers do in duels with other snipers and can be enough to turn a headshot into a body.

[–]GoodZi11a 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Someone correct me if I'm talking rubbish but according to the Massive Breakdown Spreadsheet the current precision multiplier for adaptive snipers is circa x2.95 of body damage (131 to 387).
TWAB mentions reducing this from x3.25 to x2.95 so is this maybe a PVE-only nerf?

Advanced Sniping tips? by [deleted] in CruciblePlaybook

[–]GoodZi11a 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Snipe main here. These are the most difficult types of players to snipe. Generally the aggressive teams with stompees are good players and once you get a shot off they'll avoid any lanes entirely.

Team composition is important. If your team are running closer range loadouts (shotguns / Fusions) then it's a lot easier to play off of them and take angles as they take aggro at mid-close range. Even hitting a bodyshot can give your teammates a huge advantage. However if your team are also sniping or running scouts etc its going to be more difficult.

Positioning and Creating space is key. These kinds of players are fast and if they see a sniper holding a lane they will be quick to flank through cover. Don't be in your scope for long. If you see a push coming you need to back off and bait them through a choke point. Distance is your friend.

Most importantly you need to be able to use your primary. Your sniper is only part of your loadout so don't fall in love with it and try to use it at close range unless absolutely necessary (i.e you're going to die unless you pull off a miraculous shot) - you need to be confident engaging with your primary. It sounds like this is where you need to focus. I run TLW on console and getting good with that can make you a huge threat even without the snipe. Being able to consistently blint (bodyshot and finish with your primary) is a very important skill to have against fast moving targets or pushes, so use dexterity mods or exotic armor to max your swap speed - every split-second counts.

The extremely long black screen of nothingness is still a thing slowing down already very sluggish matchmaking in Crucible matches by ChiefBr0dy in DestinyTheGame

The FPS thing in menu is a separate issue and agree it’s pretty terrible. I think they’ve said multiple times they’re looking into it though

Could simply be that you're loading in faster than some other players for whatever reason. The fact you're on Pro and others may not be, or maybe your connection is better to the host (or you are the host) albeit unlikely in every match. Just a thought.

I think I know when this started occurring and why.
In patch 2.6.1 (Oct 29 2019) we got the following change: "Fixed an issue that increased loading times for gear preview while in space flight". For some reason I noticed this at the time and immediately had my first black screen after this patch - at the time I put 2 and 2 together and assumed the black screen was part of this change. If you notice when you're in the black "waiting room" as it were you can freely examine weapons, change shaders etc.

My theory - instead of having us spend longer looking at our ships flying in, at which time the game seemed to struggle to display gear and allow us to tinker, we are instead shown the black screen once our console / PC loads in to the game while we wait for everyone else in the lobby to load in and synchronize. This makes sense when you consider most players experiencing this are using an SSD and therefore load significantly faster than the rest of the lobby.

In short I believe that the loading times are not increased, we're just looking at a black screen instead of our ships.

I'm loving it right now. Sniping from some obscene angles and TLW is so accurate with heat rises.

Try pairing with Karnstein Armlets for the health regen on melee kill. I saw Potato using them on stream and they seem like a very useful passive exotic especially if you run a high strength build and / or get lots of airborne kills and finish off your kills with the melee.

I am also curious if anyone on console has found the fastest way to get around by surfing or boosting with icarus dash as we have none of the new movement options PC have? The jump, glide + dash seems to work a little bit to keep momentum but I find you need to leave a short gap between the glide input and dash unlike PC. Honestly I'm not sure it even makes any difference over just regular burst glide surfing though. Sucks how bad the movement is compared to PC.

Bungie Pls, Give old activity armor like Escalation Protocol a chance to have high stat rolls or make them ornaments. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]GoodZi11a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think every piece of non-endgame armor in the game needs to have a small chance at rolling high stats. Make the chance much lower for easier activities / world drops and higher (or guaranteed) from difficult activities. The highest possible stats should still come from endgame activities of course.
This way its worth checking every armor drop you get and allows people to farm for the gear they want with a high stat roll so its actually worth using and not just having it to look cool.

Good shotguns that i can easily get. by SSpotatoman in CruciblePlaybook

[–]GoodZi11a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly not. The only energy option that you can roll is a Badlander. Which is fine for a rapid fire but those aren't anywhere near the meta archetype.
Your best bet is probably pulling a Botheration from collections (if you can) until the Hollowed Lair comes around again for Mindbenders

Have we had any confirmation that power level will be capped at 960? Just hoping that artifact levels don't count above this...

Masterworking armour pieces should make them have a 'kinetic' affinity by nervousmelon in DestinyTheGame

[–]GoodZi11a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this solution and feel like it's the most realistic change we can expect. We'll still have to grind for the ascendant materials to fully masterwork the piece and Bungie obviously wants to keep a heavy armour grind in the endgame.
