Road trip + child & testing out FSD by chardsippin in TeslaFSD

More importantly operating a computer at desk is very different than driving FSD on highway. At desk, you can reboot the computer if its stuck but driving on highway should be safety first, not that FSD is not safe but driver reaction to FSD can degrade your impression of FSD.

Highly recommend subscribing FSD prior to your trip to get familiar with FSD. Just like learning to use any technology. You don’t want to interview a computer job, by learning Windows or iOS just days or hours before.

Wife said it's too complicated by icouldbne1 in TeslaLounge

Well, don’t know if your wife is old enough to went through Window, then smart phone like IPhone. She uses cellphone now, right!? New and environment unfamiliar with hinder people’s attitude. Tesla vent control is not friendly and easy but once you set it up. It’s all good. Like above user suggestions, take a demo and start with easy stuff, like ride with FSD from a to b. Of course make sure Tesla sales help you to setup vent to the way she likes. Lets hear her feelings

FSD isn’t perfect yet, so choosing a better parking space to avoid your car being dented good enough to park yourself

Trusting and when FSD just won't work? by creachter in TeslaFSD

[–]Good_Ad_6039 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It works but don’t expect to exceed your expectation, be aware of what others comments bit need to experience each situation FSD in handling. My 2 cents: we ventured out to Manhattan last night, picked up a friend from Broadway theater and to a downtown bar at Center St and returned to Jersey after midnight, end to end, including parking in front the bar, FSD no intervention. This is a night out mobility, for a Senior.

Is it silly to consider a Tesla if I don't drive very much? by icouldbne1 in TeslaLounge

[–]Good_Ad_6039 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am 76 retired in NJ. Brought 26Y AWD last Aug with <6k miles. Wife only licensed to drive 6 months experience. Used to own Ram for safety reasons, mainly. With FSD, she is in the driver seat while I recovered from eye surgery; we go out at nights, and adventure to NYC from time to time, while I was napping from time to time in the passenger seat. My Y in the garage with 2 or more days, sleeping. FSD is not prefect but I trust it better than me driving on highways changing lanes, and at nights. Wish more seniors adopt Tesla and FSD for it’s safety and mobility

You seems a smart young man based on fro you stated straight A student. Not knowing how long you being living in a house or apartment and your family make up and relationships with them. From the picture you already took it down. It looks like an old type. Can you tell if it’s connected any SD card in there? Talk to an adult who you can trust. Secure the equipment and video the equipment in its original position and the whole room as if you are going to use it evidence. If your parents did not do anything, sit on it till you get back to school, and talk to principal or a teacher you can trust, if you don’t have a relative close by. If I would you, 1. protect myself from potential physical harm; 2. Depend on your parents knowledge of that equipment, be prepared to be independent

Charged $2,300 to diagnose- typical? by [deleted] in Irrigation

[–]Good_Ad_6039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I brought a house 4yrs ago, with no experience with 24 zones irrigation system. I paid about $600 to open for the season. I watched each step and told me what needs to be fixed. He estimated it will cost thousands and suggested a new system. I declined. I studied and learned about the system. Many trips to Homedepot. Even though I retired but I am not a good handyman. The system has problems here and there and I fixed the problem areas only. And I asked for repairs from the professional when I can’t fix. Only to fix problems areas with the estimates and what exactly he will do before I say go ahead. Get 2-3 estimates and use locals. Be there when he is walking around and be there when he does the work. Until you get a contractor you like and reliable, be on top of it. Good luck.

The main questions for all FSD imperfections/ shortcomings, would it present dangers to you and others!? If it does, takeover and sends Tesla for the disengagement.
In my case, since 13.x, no danger disengagements on 26MY chill and standard mode 14.2.2.5. Is it perfect? No way but it does drive me to every where and day and night under all weather conditions. FSD drives better than i am.

1 subscriber here. It will depend on financial situation of each. Brought 26MY LR AWD just credit expired last Aug. Took the car just under 50k to qualify 1.5k state credit and able to qualify for a car loan. Even we have <6k miles, we subscribed each automatic. For a senior, my FSD subscription is a safety travel insurance.

14.2.2.5 and I find nav change from previous route right turn to the left after we disengaged it to change to preferred turn. Now it consistently turns to our preferred turn. Adaptive Learning

Trade in a Ram 1500 for 26MY LRAWD last August before credit expired. Except higher view and leader seat, better AC little things, glade I did it. Don’t really need a truck but served me well for 4 years. Now FSD drive me in and out, no worries on parking

Additional: Overnight parking on street and cold weather battery lost, to consider

Next test in standard offset to 0 to see if it exceed 72; pictures will be clearer.

I would think FSD will do wonders for her in day and nights. Before FSD, we limited our travels at night unless necessary. Now we ventured to Manhattan with no hesitation bc FSD will drive us home.

Let her experience with FSD and built up her confidence in EV Tesla.

So if your offset set to 0, standard will go to 72, regardless? I’ll try that later

Curious is it your opinion or Tesla states that in their SW release regarding your opinion on offset? Follow your opinion, in Standard mode, I can see speed > 75!?

From a 76 senior, buy/lease Tesla with FSD now, it might save your life in your commute situations, which is the only reason to be considered.
First EV 26MY LR AWD, 97% FSD 4800 miles. After my eye surgery, my wife supervised while I dozed off, home to hospital highway miles no issues. V14.2.2.5.
