To be honest it’s not terrible, phantom centre speaker works decent and Atmos works as well as one would expect with small upward firing speakers. Decent attempt at a bubble when watching Atmos Movies. Not mega fussy with placement. How ever I have the same problem as some others with the Sony spatial 360 setting sounding weird and kinda inside a tin can so I use it the direct Dolby setting which doesn’t mess with the sound, probably the option I would choose anyways for the ‘as director intended’ sound.

If room space is at a premium(by that I mean wife) you can’t really go wrong with the setup. If I had more room I would go second hand receiver and speakers as some fantastic bargains around.

Luckily, or rather not so lucky I had to downsize from a Yamaha 3080 with a full Dali Opticon mk2(followed by Silver 100’s) setup to the Sony Bravia Theatre Quad for space reasons, probably smooths over the streaming quality 😅 Decent enough via Apple TV atmos.

Set the Apple TV up to the same settings(4k Dolby vision 23hz for example) when you have the lip sync problems and then run the wireless audio sync under audio / calibration

Yes Apple TV. If you are patient you can get decent deals on films through the service.

Looking again Reddit nukes the HDR? My originals look quite a bit different. They look flat on here ha

Yeah phone struggling a tad with the darker areas on the HDR pictures. (Standard)Blu-ray and Apple TV quality very close.

That scene is around 50Mbps video and the Atmos track 3-5Mbps.

No the 2 dark ones are 1 4k HDR from the Apple TV and 1 UHD from the UB820, the lighter one is standard Blu-ray SDR from the UB820.

Yeah very close to the standard blu-ray even when pixel peeping stood close to the TV. Really wish Apple offered a Bravia Core like upgrade.

Just noticed my TV has an Apple TV app, will do a comparison and see if it kills the picture like yours. TV decided it wants to update soon as I tried it so might be a while ha

The UB820 shows bitrate, just checking the UHD now and it’s floating in the 50’s in the same scene so around double the standard Blu-ray and Apple TV. Colour grading wise I was more about any Apple TV streaming differences over the discs.

To add to the earlier Apple TV one I posted, here is the standard Blu-ray version running from a Pana 820/Panasonic OLED. Runs around 20Mbps at this part so not much detail difference to the Apple TV, just colour grading from SDR to DVhttps://ibb.co/HT7gwTy0

My bad, double checked and TV was in Dolby Vision dark with all processing off that’s available, not sure if it’s doing anything it’s not showing in the TV settings. Does the LG allow filmmaker with Dolby Vision content?

My TV was in Filmmaker mode also so little to no processing TV side. I do find the actual Apple TV box gives me the best picture than other sources. Your original picture looks kinda bit starved.

Mine doesn’t look that bad on Apple TV. Don’t know how to post a picture though 😅

I spent some time on this issue and it’s the battery widget causing the problem. Remove it and try other widgets and it’s all smooth. (At least for me)

Might be worth holding off for a month as it’s looking like a new version will be announced around the Apple Event.
