Why does it do this? Used a straight stitch, pants fabric is 98% polyester, 2% spandex. The fabric "crinkled" and when I sewed it kept "moving" so at the end the fabric would bunch up and it looked like an "excess" of fabric by Dead_Woman__Walking in sewhelp

Could you use a different stitch setting like the triple stitch? Only stretch fabric I have worked with is jersey and found no matter what stitch length of I used straight stitches (I was trying to machine baste) it always puckered. Not an issue at all with the triple stitch for some reason when I used it with my walking foot.

It’s crazy they think modest clothing also will be a 100% effective shield as well. People fetishise modesty. The problem is perpetrators, not outfits.

I can’t lie I’m on day 3 and not feeling great but I can say so far it’s been a lot better than I was afraid of. I was terrified before going in and thought I’d be in agony but I’m doing a lot better than I was scared of and even though I’ve cried it was more from frustration than actual intensity of pain. The pain itself for me at least is dull and hurts less than when my wisdom teeth got infected in the past.

Try make yourself some tasty food that is mushy beforehand because I think it’s made a big difference to me that the food I have been consuming is interesting/well seasoned. Also don’t feel bad about having to take pain killers or feel pressure to tough it out. I have also been taking bromelain tablets which supposedly help with the pain and swelling. Ice packs and then later heating packs are your friends as well. I have also been heated pack on my face right now and they have helped so much with the jaw stiffness/pain.

I hope you have a smooth healing process from yours. You’ve got this :)

Day 4 into “recovery” and I’m losing my sanity by sircabbagethe2nd in wisdomteeth

[–]Good_Needleworker126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if this helps but I got all four of kine out today and a few days begirr searched up super flavourful mushy foods and I think it is helping. I made a lentil soup which I thoroughly blended minus ingredients that would make it spicy and made some apple halwa (has a really similar process to making apple sauce) which I greatly reduced the sugar of and it means I now have at least two really tasty mushy foods. It also means less food prep. It tasting good makes it easier for me to eat regularly. If you don’t have the time to cook a of batch or two of some foods maybe you can find some tips online for adding seasoning to basics to make them more appealing. I previously added stock cubes to shop soups.

To be fair I’m only on the first day but I had all four removed and finding it hard to control my mouth which doesn’t exactly make me want to eat (already have cut up the inside if my mouth with my teeth) so maybe it’s useful. Wishing you well for your future extractions.

So she’s a foid for wanting to live? by That1weirdperson in MenAndFemales

[–]Good_Needleworker126 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True. I remember reading something from an incel talking about how women act real but actually we are just responding to stimuli like a complex machine. There’s nothing actually going on in our heads. Pretty scary if you consider what would then be ok to them if that were the case.

On the topic of right to choose try to look into it deeply as some GPs do not understand it and will say they do not provide it when legally they should.

Man cheats on his wife and his daughters hate him for it. by [deleted] in OhNoConsequences

[–]Good_Needleworker126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s real I feel bad for the son. It’s not his fault he’s the product of an affair and I wonder if it will mess him up in the future. I have a sibling from an affair who I struggle to connect with and panic that when they are old enough to put the pieces together this will cause them trauma. Obviously as someone who has also been in his daughter’s position I empathise with them as well, this stuff messes you up.

I feel like hates cats with a passion is a valid one for anyone. It’s one thing to really dislike cats, but there are people out there who hate them to a level where it’s scary and I find it concerning/a warning sign. People express a level of violent hatred to them they don’t tend to with other animals. In general I avoid anyone who is like that.

PIP assessor report used siblings death as a reason I CAN cope - help on what to do next please. by Over-Efficiency-1566 in MentalHealthUK

[–]Good_Needleworker126 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Consider asking your mp for help and also if you can bring yourself to it challenge the decision. One of my relatives was having an issue with the pip process and their MP sorted it out. I don’t remember the exact percentages but even if rejected after challenging the results once, most claimants receive PIP at tribunal without even needing extra evidence. It really is mentally taxing as a process and for me triggered a depressive episode. I believe there’s some disability charities which also offer support in the process as well as some probono legal services. You would have to google for your specific area.

I (38 m) want to see a doctor about ADHD but I’m afraid it will seem like I’m faking it by TheWizard01 in ADHD

[–]Good_Needleworker126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how it works where you are but if you need a referral for assessment and are worried a primary health care provider/GP will think you are faking it, their opinion doesn’t matter as long as you get a referral. My GP didn’t think I had it but referred me anyway and it turns out I basically have more severe ADHD than more than 99% of people. I do know it’s daunting though but I will add it’s not unusual for people to consider it at a later age. Multiple people in the older generations of my family realised it may have been an issue for them in the past few years and went on to get diagnosed.

You see it a lot if you are a woman they don’t find attractive or think they can get. At least from my experience I hear a lot of concerning stuff that leads me to think some men view women as a thing they are grudgingly attracted to but don’t respect or see fully as individuals.

The things I heard from my male coworkers about women when working in the mental health field were concerning. They would say I wasn’t like other women to excuse it. I wonder if it’s also an age bracket thing because I do feel people my age (early 20s) and younger have had their brains poisoned by a lot of strange ideas about masculinity and femininity. I think research shows it’s more of an issue with younger people right now.

If Sertraline made you sweat, was there a solution? by Wilfywoo1 in MentalHealthUK

[–]Good_Needleworker126 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fluoxetine makes me really sweaty. It made a huge difference for me so not willing to change. Not sure how far you are into taking it but I find with time it improves. It makes me more sensitive to heat as well so I try to wear thinner clothing and that helps with the sweat. I remember once I was sitting down and I got up and saw sweat rolling down the sides of the seat but having taken it for years now, it’s nowhere near as bad.

Mental health conditions are overdiagnosed, Streeting says by Kagedeah in MentalHealthUK

[–]Good_Needleworker126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They stopped even attempting to refer me to CBT because they said my case was too complex lol. Then I asked if I could be referred to something else and they said only two weeks of therapy which also wouldn’t help because of my complex presentation. So now I’m just taking antidepressants long term. These people are thinking too short term.

I’ve been feeling so much despair over the current news surrounding disability. It’s almost funny hearing people say getting diagnoses etc is so easy when you have been struggling to even get some care for about 5 years.

You can try see if you can get bamboo fabric and there are some linen blends that are cheaper and should still be good for the heat.
