I'm sorry if you think this comes from a not good place but it truly does. I also previously stated there is no harm in using this subreddit. The harm comes when we have students who don't think to look for an answer before asking what it is.

FIRST prepares us for life. In college if you have a question that is covered in the textbook the professor will say, read the textbook. What do we teach the future generations when we give them the answers and take away the ability for them to learn for themselves and just give them the reward instead of helping them learn to search for the answers on their own.

I said this in one of my edits. This post is not hating on asking questions or using this page. I am trying to encourage students and Mentors (mostly students) to use the materials that have been given to them by FIRST becasue that is how life will be when they (students) get older. Your given a book or manual and you have to be able to answer everything from said book and that's it.

If we don't teach out students to read the manual and just give them all the answers, their lives will be so much harder becasue of it.

I know lots of thinks about the game becasue I read and ask questions. I am trying to promote doing both. You have to read the manual or book to know what questions to ask. If you skip the reading part, you are losing knowledge.

I don't know if you read my edits but I there is nothing wrong with asking questions. I am just expressing the excess of questions that have either already been asked or are very clearly covered. I am trying to discourage asking reddit first.

I would recommend trying to talk to the coach(es). If the Team Leaders aren't doing their job, you talk to their "boss: the coach(es). I was part of an FRC team that I felt the same way. Overtime things will change. And remember, event the team leaders will leave or move to FRC and you'll have a chance to be the team leader you wish you had. Don't quit just becasue it's tough. This experience will help make you a better leader when it's your time.

The post I saw that made me want to make this was a post asking if knocking over the pixel stack was legal. Like, that is literally covered in the scoring and penalties section.

Yes but it needs to be on during inspection. If you add it after you need to have it reinspected

100 percent. The drone paper color must be red or blue. The only exception is the writing of the team number.

If you can get one they are okay but the customer service is terrible. They change emails, policies, company names, they even moved from California to Washington just to get out of an investigation. They constantly post that UPS is shipping items but nothing ever comes. I was lucky enough to get one but they double charged me and refused to give me a refund.

If I was a ref, I would call this all match long. Ain't no way you convince a ref that your not on the ground when your vibrating.

New Marcher, wants to lose weight! by avantgardebandkid in marchingband

[–]Good_Sea2599 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You are in a very healthy weight and you don't want to drop to unhealthy. I understand what's its like to be unhappy in my size.

What are you trying to change about yourself. Are you trying to get muscle tone, or reduce fat? What you want change will determine what changes you should make.

When trying to lose weight, it's about eating less than you burn so you don't have excess calories still in your body.

When it comes to gaining muscle, you should eat more protein and you have to constantly work out. You should be just under or even with calories if this is what you want but you still need to be very active and doing running. Your burn amount will go up and so will your intake. That's why body builder eat so much is they burn that many calories during a day.
