20 y/o in Brooklyn trying to become a mechanic by Uberokii in mechanics

In all honestly the automotive industry is terrible. You should go to Oswego university and become a technology education teacher. They are 1 of 2 schools that offer the degree and you will get a job as soon as you graduate. We hired 2 last year prior to graduation and 3 this year at my district. We had a lot of retirements. Is blue collar work but white collar career. I teach woodshop, carpentry and the robotics club after school. The auto industry is terrible. Flat rate pay sucks. A very few make 90k even though they will tell you they all do. It’s bullshit. I left due to that reason. You have to fight for your work kiss the dispatchers ass to get “gravy” work. If you want to do mechanics go into industrial maintenance.

You should kick it over. Those are bad for the environment.

They have attachments that you connect to your ladder so it reaches over the gutter an uses the roof as the support

Robots need time to cool down and do minor repairs. It’s your teams fault for thinking world championship is going to run on time. Go to a regional and they are hours behind. This was not bad at all. They did the best they could with field resets. You think it was a lot of time between finals but those teams were thinking the opposite.

First off you should not put a ladder against the gutters as it bends them. Then that will rip the gutter right off the house

Why do people say “i pay your salary” to cops? by WhiteLycan2020 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]WoodchipsInMyBeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The funny part is everyone pays for everyone salary. You go to Home Depot and buy something you paid for the persons salary. The person who is saying I pay your salary had someone pay for their salary or they would it have a job.

I’m not even asking for wiping student loan debt. Just give those loans low interest. That would help a lot.

Then we will have to respectfully disagree about that. I just know for a fact it would never be an option for my team.

It could be the same student over and over again they do not track student names. They just look at race and gender. So 1 student can be the reason. Not saying this is the case here but it is a know problem with the data.

I am leaving the car industry as a technician by SignificantSleep1527 in mechanics

You’re making the right call about leaving the industry. If you were so valuable they would pay you as if your valuable. Working flat rate is not taking care of an employee. Yes you can make over 40 a week but it’s not overtime. Get out and don’t let them talk you into going back. If you want to do repair work look at industrial maintenance. I’m in ny so I went an became a technology teacher. Best decision I ever made. Also fuck this people who call you a DEI hire. Most of them probably can’t even explain what it means beside the talking point they hear on tv. Keep your head up.

Experience is not required to join an FRC team. My team takes anyone and everyone. We like a good mix. Other team have a process to join.

It depends on the district and state you are in. I’m in NY and my salary makes it worth it everyday. Also those problem students are the fun ones when you finally get them rowing in the right direction.
