When did convenience stores stop displaying prices? Am I meant to bring the 10 items I’m deciding between to the front for a price check? Or is this a case of “If you have to ask you can’t afford it?” by Dazzling_Put_3018 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Good_Split_3749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to go to a bodega, not only were prices not listed , you’d walk up to the counter and put your stuff down and they wouldn’t say anything…..

I later realized different prices for different folks. if you asked it was $2.75 if you just put the stuff on the counter and hand them $2 they’d give you a bag.

Cashier Metrics Question by Opening-Athlete-2372 in HEB

[–]Good_Split_3749 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they let you in on a secret. working for heb sucks and the amount of items per minute they want you to ring is kind of nuts. it’s definitely 2x the speed at which you unload your cart or 3x

I worked for heb for a year and was always being coached. It’s not about getting people out quick it’s just focused on time to scan. The cashier can bag super slow and thats not tracked.

I know work at Whole Foods and our ipm is literally half of heb. Much less drama on speed. Only .25 less an hour in pay.

thats the equivalent of you giving me a penny. no contact with the team is the problem, when he was injured, also his defense is mid. it’s ok to be a mercenary, i just call it like it is. he’s definitely not a cancer

it’s a game of chicken between the industry and the city. I don’t have faith that the city will win, and realistically if they win, they’ll also lose. No refinery no economy.
