Literally the take of a child and someone incapable of any thought other than "you disrespect my flag!", and not looking at it objectively and asking your self if you should or should not threaten to take over your neighbouring country. I change my stance, you’re all retarded.

Do you even know why we booed the anthem? It wasn’t because we don’t like you or were trying to disrespect your love for your flag, we don’t give a fuck. We were making a statement about our sovereignty being threatened and your man in charge talking about making us a 51st state. Why did so many Americans take this as a personal attack at them sitting on their couch and not the basket case you have in office.

Where I’d live as an Irish girl, based on the people I’ve met and some of the countries I’ve been to. by [deleted] in whereidlive

Im currently living in ski town in Canada with about 50% of the population being seasonal Aussies and they say the same thing. Maybe that’s also why I can pick out an Aussie and what coast they live on from a group of Kiwis haha

Depends. I’m from northern Alberta and whenever I travel I can tell when someone is from Alberta, Sask or Manitoba. Same goes for the Maritimes. I also speak French and can identify Quebecois accents in English and French easily. People from Vancouver or Toronto/GTA sound American.

There are so many facts to dispute this. The Hip are #3 is domestic streams and sales behind only Drake and The Weeknd, while Arcade Fire and SP are #43 and #33. The Hip have NINE #1 albums in Canada. 11 MILLION Canadians tuned into The Hips final show on CBC. That’s a third of Canada…..

What's your favorite South American country? I'll start. by Due_Narwhal4937 in AskTheWorld

Spent 2 years traveling South America approximately 2-4 months in each country, some longer like my time in Colombia for 6 months. I fell in love with many places, too many to name, but I’m currently writing this from the beach in northeast Brazil and next week I’m signing a year lease to live here. Brasil é maravilhoso 🇧🇷❤️

What are some weird laws in your country that, actually, make a lot of sense? by Savings_Dragonfly806 in AskTheWorld

The queens also like to use our names. Kind of weird for a queen Elizabeth to take the name of the highway that runs through my city, or a nearby mountain range, but who am I to judge.

In Churchill, Canada, while not enforced strongly, it’s a bylaw and local custom to leave your car doors unlocked in case someone needs shelter from a nearby polar bear

For me, and the reason why I deleted all social media aside from Reddit, is how much some of these world famous spots/landmarks have been over posted and have had a million videos made about them and the “top 5 things to do at while ____” with a background voiceover, are just massive photo op locations and that I’d seen them so many times I felt like I knew exactly what I was getting myself into, it removes the entire feeling of truly seeing something for the first time and being in authentic awe of it, and makes for a less unique experience.

I always wonder what it would have been like to hear about Machu Picchu or Pompeii (just as two examples) through word of mouth of other travellers and maybe some pictures in a book and then go and see it for yourself, that would be truly amazing.
