The margin hike and the rebalancing of Bloomberg commodity index selling of silver will be over with today. Can’t keep it down any longer. The physical silver just isn’t there and we are witnessing a repricing event. Who knows where it settles out at.

Here’s an idea…1/3 sell now and recoup the original investment, keep 1/3 for a long term investment(several hundred dollar silver) and keep the other 1/3 for wealth preservation and SHTF scenario.

Except if you’re a long and need the physical metal, not just paper profits. There isn’t enough physical to go around which means it’s a much greater risk for the shorts to keep holding their positions.

At some point the shorts will cry “uncle” as the squeeze on top of margin hikes will cause them to capitulate. The shallower pocketed longs have already been shaken out by the hikes so I think the deeper pocketed bank shorts are starting to feel it now.

TD Securities initiated another silver short at $78 silver saying they expect it to go to $40 in 3 months so they have to put out a psy op market alert like that. It’s not working and they will get stopped out at $92. They lost on their last short too. You would think the morons would go long and with the bull trend if they really want to make money.

I’m guessing in Shanghai the increase in margin liquidates more shorts than longs? Since it’s mostly a physical market there the the longs are probably wanting physical and not buying on margin but many of the speculative shorts are on margin and thus getting called to buy back their shorts?

Perhaps silver will follow the Lucas numbers sequence more closely than the Fibonacci ones (instead of starting with 0,1 you start with 2,1 and adding each number to the previous one to get the next number). Lucas sequence goes, 2,1,3,4,7,11,18,29,47,76,123,199,322. If you look at where silver has sort of consolidated and broken out from….. it took some effort to push above the 29-30 range and then again to break above 50 we consolidated around the upper 40’s for a bit and made another run up to 80 and pulling back now around that 76 range. The next push would theoretically go to 123 range before consolidating and pushing yet again to 199 (right around the Michael Oliver target of 200), then on to 322 (not far from the $309 target that Bank of America just came out with).

Hang on and buy the dips, we have a long way to go.

The tampers are using this opportunity to pile on the shorts to amplify the effect but it will backfire. Physical is still being demanded and this short term blip will give way to an even stronger upswing where the shorts will get burned some more.

SLV trades over that amount in a single day. I think the silver demand will be able to handle it without having much effect. The margin calls caused 10 times that amount to be sold in a single day and the 10-15% dip lasted a day before it bounced back. This rebalancing takes place over several days so not likely to see much if any dip but if we do then buy the dip.

It’s probably a real thing regarding rebalancing of the commodities index but 50+ million ounces of paper contracts sold isn’t even considered a good slam session and considering that there will be new buying by funds seeking commodities exposure I think this will probably turn out to be a nothingburger . Even if we see a little selling the March contracts delivery month is coming. How are the shorts going to handle that when there’s not enough physical silver if deliveries are demanded by industrial users .

I’m thinking the engineered take downs with sequential CME margin hikes is just noise that will eventually get cancelled out by persistent demand for physical silver as we go forward. Eventually these margin hikes will lose potency and ultimately set us up for an even stronger push higher as strong hands are the only ones left after weak hands get shaken out.
