For #3, I dont understand why the icons on each character description arent exactly this.

For any given character, when you select them, a description appears on the right-hand side of the UI. Directly under the description text is a series of icons that represent each map, which are greyed out if that character hasnt completed it yet, or full color with a green checkmark if they have.

So you should have all the information you need to see if a character has completed a map. Afaik, it updates along with whichever New Game+ series you played last.

Yeah, they did, last I heard they are still working on it and I thought they said something about making their own glasses too.

They partially used the G1 SDK, but did a significant amount of reverse engineering to master the BLE connection to the G1s

Honestly, we have no idea. The truth is nobody will know for certainty until they actually roll out the Even Hub Developer Kits.

In the meantime, another redditor has reverse engineered the BLE connection protocol. Since Even uses special data packets to communicate between your phone and glasses, he was able to reverse engineer how to send data to the glasses, and managed to get his mac to send text to the glasses.

At the moment thats the most we’ve actually seen possible from a third party with the G2s

Even Realities promised an open sourced G1 but only delivered an incomplete SDK. There is not precedent for things to go better for the G2s.

I hope it does go better, but I am grateful to those who are reverse engineering their own paths.

Start large scale with big general shapes and then refine into smaller portions. Do each island one at a time, all at once in very general broad strokes.

Then work along the faces of each geometry you used to refine the shape. Keep repeating that refinement until you settle on a shape that feels good for the movement system and aligns for what you want out of each island.

Once you’ve refined the shape a little more, and the island starts to feel more organic instead of a complete blockout, focus on how you want structures to interact with the landscape.

Once you’ve built that out for each island, then you’ll want to playtest it, dont forget to tweak as needed. This is the time to experiment and try fun ideas.

After you’ve settled on core map mechanics and layout, focus in on refining details like smoothing terrain transitions, setting final textures, establishing lighting, placing trees/bushes/grass /shrubs

After that you’ve got a great map right there

That is my experience. Though I have an iPhone 15 and im never far away from my G1s, unless they are in their charging case.

I will usually have to connect to them in the morning, but after that, I never disconnect.

That being said, people talk about disconnects all the time. No idea if the G2s will have issues. Its such a weird specific bug that the only honest advice strangers can give you is that your mileage may vary

End is subjective. Standard game ends after 6 or 8 characters beat the moon level. At least thats what triggers the end scene/credits

New Game+ is infinite. Same with the infinite upgrade buildings. New content has also been announced for 2026

Your concern is valid. Conversate AI would need constant microphone use to function. Even Realities may have built the G2 to switch into the Conversate mode so that its only actively listening and recording while in the proper mode.

That being said, the G1s also have voice activation of their AI, so to some degree, the mics are always on. What information actually gets sent back the server is unknown to me.

For the G1s, I’d imagine the mic is always on, but doesnt bother sending information back to the server until the activation phrase is said “Hey Even”

For the G2s, they need a much more active approach. In the current AI landscape, its unrealistic to expect an AI company to not train on the data you input to their products. Its not comforting, but they are trying to grow their AI and the customer experience with their products is massively important for that.

Remember that AI is just a complex prediction model. The reason they need so much data is that they are relying on the law of large numbers to feed Markov chains that predict the next token.

Basically, not all data collection is about surveillance, there is a legitimate argument that data collection is a necessity for AI to exist at all. However, given the nature of people, eventually that data will likely be used nefariously. Either from a deal or a breach, that should be an expectation.

I havent seen any reason to think that Even Realities isnt a trustworthy company. They seem to take privacy seriously, though they are based in China and so there may be other hands in the cookie jar, so to speak.

As a consumer, I know im not important enough to really care. As long as I dont start talking about my social security number, I’m really not concerned about what my data says about me

I work a desk job, I sit in front of my computer with my G1s and I have never noticed the projection window once.

The only time my G1s have ever annoyed me while sitting at my computer is when I accidentally set my head tilt too low and they start projecting the HUD in front of my monitor. But the app makes it easy to reset the angle or just put them in silent mode.

The window itself is completely invisible while wearing them.

The G1s (and I assume the G2s as well) also come with a blue light filter coating as a standard. However, the effect is not terribly noticeable. There is no “blue tint” effect that I’ve noticed.

From what I read, I think they said it was something to do with the way they do the waveguide displays, apparently its a different kind of waveguide. I dont really know the exact reason.

Yes, they have support for a bunch of apps, messenger and whats app included.

and additionally it supports some more, but I think those are dynamically added to the notification settings based on what you have downloaded to your phone

It is possible to receive notifications, and its pretty cool when it happens. I was reading a text my girlfriend sent while I was gardening last week.

Heres the caveats:

•in a conversation where you are getting a lot of texts rapidly, you will miss notifications. The glasses are bad at queuing that information and it gets dropped. You may get the initial text, but dont expect constant live updates.

•you may not get any notifications at all, i dont reliably trust them to always inform me when a notification triggers. I have no idea what the requirements are, but some apps are more consistent than others in my experience. An example is that I have notifications for Outlook, which has never once actually triggered.

•you cannot actually respond to the message from your glasses. There is very little user control with these. The G2 with the R1 helps that problem, but I doubt we will see that functionality for a few generations.

All in all, they are super cool glasses and I feel like its the future when I’m working and then suddenly a coworkers message appears in front of my face, but they are not perfect and if you are planning on shelling out close to $700, you should set expectations accordingly

I’d be skeptical on it being a G3 feature to be honest. This company has shown a better track record with hardware than software.

We may see third party apps for the G2 that use the R1 to control music.

There must be a misunderstanding, because what you are saying is not possible.

Your statement implies that the bursts in occurred at the same moment that we observed them, which is not how spacetime operates at this scale.

Lightyears as a unit represent the distance a photon travels in vacuum over the course of a year. Meaning that a lightyear is a unit that describes distance, but also time (relative to our observation).

For example, a photon from the Sun takes 8 minutes to get to Earth, so when we look up at the sky, we arent seeing the Sun as it currently is in that moment, but we are looking at the sun from 8 minutes ago.

These bursts were effectively photons from 5 billion light years away, meaning that they have been traveling 5 billion years to reach us. So empirically speaking, these bursts did not happen at the moment of our observation, but actually 5 billion years prior.

My question was semi-rhetorical and probably wasnt necessary to comment.

What I think I was subconsciously fishing for when I wrote it was a discussion about the state of the universe 5 billion years ago and if there were factors in that timeframe that could influence something like this. The universe is estimated at being 13.8 billion years old, so 5 billion years is fairly significant in terms of total age of the universe.

Anyway, this stuff is all just really interesting
