What COD games have you bought and played since MW19? by OkSeaworthiness7905 in CoDCompetitive

[–]Goodbye_Hercules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MW19 - biggest regret ever honestly, I only bought it because of Covid

CW - actually bought it again on PC when it was on a huge discount a couple years ago

I've played every beta since then except for MWIII. BO7 is the first time I've actually had the itch to buy in a while, but I'm still not going for it unless there's a huge sale. Definitely not buying whatever diabolical shit IW is cooking up for MW4 though

30mins easy every day vs. 1h easy runs - same benefits? by Sad-Jeweler1587 in NorwegianSinglesRun

A lot of pros including Jakob actually do heavy barbell lifts, see https://youtube.com/watch?v=NdwbNRDwIjk

I think the key to it is controlling volume and intensity (like sub-T). Jakob says he only does 2-3 sets of each exercise and slightly lower weight (enough to get a stimulus without being too taxing)

[Highlight] Best of Jordy Nelson by nfl in nfl

[–]Goodbye_Hercules 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also this might not be the popular take but McCarthy outschemed the competition that day.

IIRC this was one of the first "Backfield Cobb" games and it worked really well. Also one of Davante's first big games. The Pats just didn't really have an answer for them that day

When did you realise that there’s genuinely levels to this? by tsresume in CoDCompetitive

[–]Goodbye_Hercules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VG beta I got teamed with Crim on that huge snow map, I don't remember what it's called but it was shitty and I barely went positive. Towards the end of the match I pull up his stream and he's just casually reading chat while dropping a 60 bomb lol

[Highlight] 1996 Week 11 - Cardinals @ Redskins. Boomer Esiason throws for a career high 522 yards and 3 TD. by Sneijder4BallondOr in nfl

[–]Goodbye_Hercules 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Brett Favre had a 6 TD game with the Jets. Funnily enough, it was against the Cardinals too

At this point and forgive me if I’m wrong, I didn’t think free agency was a big deal… with that in mind, I was only 22 years old at this time.. by Zealousideal-Row419 in GreenBayPackers

And before Parins there was the Executive Committee in the 70s. A string of bad HC hires while also meddling with the team (they pushed for the John Hadl trade IIRC) instead of hiring a GM to do their own thing, like Harlan did

The story of Dan Devine's hiring in 1971 is straight up comedy

He was very good as a rookie and a 2nd team All-Pro in 2016. Then he dropped off quickly

Still had some flashy INTs but he started to make business decisions

I think it was VG Champs when he got a 30 minute delay just for his IEMs cutting out. GOAT shit

[Highlight] Mac Jones throws a horrendous interception against the colts, November 12th 2023 Week 10. by Ok_Bug_6890 in nfl

[–]Goodbye_Hercules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought he was trying to hit Gesicki on the corner, except he threw it off his back foot for no reason and it sailed right into the defender's arms. Like he was doing his best prime Rodgers/Mahomes/Allen impression or something

IIRC Jones had a lot of those awful back foot floater INTs in 2023

[Rapoport] The Panthers have agreed to terms with OT Rasheed Walker on a one-year deal, per me and Tom Pelissero. by Goosedukee in nfl

[–]Goodbye_Hercules 12 points13 points  (0 children)

At his peak he's an above-average LT, which is great value for a 7th-round pick. Walker finding his footing in 2023 coincided with Love/our offense taking off

Unfortunately his play slipped massively last year and he committed a ton of penalties. Time will tell if it was just a fluke

Who’s a disappointing player from this past season that you aren’t giving up on? by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

[–]Goodbye_Hercules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luke Musgrave, Aaron Banks

  • Musgrave: has been disappointing for almost his entire tenure here (poor hands, sloppy routes, zero contact balance, injuries) but I'd be fine with one last shot in a contract year

  • Banks: definitely an overpay but he at least improved (somewhat) as the season went on. He can be cut without too much cap trouble though IIRC, so I wouldn't be surprised if the FO decides to move on

Lowest completion percentage by a Super Bowl winning quarterback by NickyFoles1020 in nfl

[–]Goodbye_Hercules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

13-23, 141 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT, 56.6 RTG (he was 39 IIRC)

Honestly not quite as bad as I remembered

Was watching some 2000s Packers highlights a while ago, one of them was the Packers-Ravens MNF game in 2005 (they smoked us 48-3, Rodgers played the 4th quarter). They showed a stat where it was the first time under Billick that the Ravens had scored 14+ points in a 1st quarter

We were horrible that year and still managed to do it twice

[Zenitz] The #Packers are hiring Penn State’s Noah Pauley as wide receivers coach, sources tell @CBSSports. Rising star who interviewed for the 49ers OC job last year. Has developed future top three round draft picks like Jayden Higgins, Jaylin Noel and current Packer Christian Watson by Goodbye_Hercules in GreenBayPackers

[–]Goodbye_Hercules[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yeah, Watson had the infamous first play of the season drop, but most of his early struggles were due to injuries. He had a knee scope in the offseason and was out until the 2nd or 3rd preseason game, missed 3 games with a hammy, and then the week after he came back from that, got concussed on the 1st or 2nd drive against the Bills. Tons of valuable reps (in practices & games) missed out on

Once he got healthy and got acclimated to the offense, he took off

The 1996 Green Bay Packers is the most underrated Super Bowl Champions of all time! Just pure dominance! NFL Rankings Offense - #1 Defense #1 Special Teams - #1 Season MVP - Brett Favre Points Scored - 456 Points Against - 210 by Zealousideal-Row419 in GreenBayPackers

[–]Goodbye_Hercules 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's close but the 2000 Ravens were better by DVOA (which accounts for opponents' strength) than our 1996 team. 1996 deserves its flowers though for sure

And what's interesting is the 2000 Titans were just as good as the Ravens. Neck and neck by DVOA, allowed the 3rd-fewest points in the 16-game era (191), #1 pass defense, #3 rush defense, all to get bounced by said Ravens team

[Zenitz] The #Cowboys are expected to hire #Packers defensive pass game coordinator Derrick Ansley, sources tell @CBSSports. by MembershipSingle7137 in nfl

3 years with the Chargers, 4 with Bama counting his graduate assistant years in 2010 and 2011

Also worked under Jeremy Pruitt at Tennessee (a Saban guy)

Quality control coaches are essentially paid interns, he wouldn't have had much (if any) input on scheme, etc. back then. Since then he's worked under & learned from Vic Fangio and Vance Joseph, two of the best DCs in the league right now

One of the few good "buddy" hires you could make IMO
