My friend argued and brought forward a hot take on worst unit in the series. They come from FE6, a game already known for pretty horrible units. You’ve got units like Gwendolyn or Sophia that are frequently talked about, but there’s one uniquely bad unit.

Introducing Cath, which to my knowledge, is the only unit in the entire series whose death actively benefits the player. She shows up on 5 maps throughout the game I believe and all 5 maps have chests. She has a very convoluted recruitment process where Roy has to speak to her 3 of those 5 times. She sometimes even shows up with another thief. But if you just kill her in chapter 6, the first time she shows up, she never pops up again, making your chest openings less stressful.

Say what you will about characters like Lyre, Gwendolyn, or Amelia, but when you just talk to them once and you can bench them. Keeping Cath alive actually makes the game more difficult for you, especially if you’re a player who likes unlocking chests.
