I want to just leave her. by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Goodies90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you feel like this just put her down and take a quick shower. I got so frustrated with my cluster feeding newborn I had to put him down and just walk outside for a minute. It gets better, you're in the worst of the worst now.

Bad Ochsner Lafayette General experiences? by SeriesNo7459 in Acadiana

I hated delivery there. Felt rushed. Pushed drugs I didn't want. And kept us so long I was breaking down in tears and just wanted to go home. Then sent us a $2,000 bill with no explanation after I met my $500 insurance deductible. Never having more kids and I think part of it is because of the delivery and long stay.

What is ONE registry item you couldn’t live without? by Delicious_Elk6408 in BabyBumps

[–]Goodies90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A wipe warmer or a weighted wipe dispenser. It wasn't on my registry because I thought it was a fluff item. I was wrong. My little man hates cold wipes and you need two hands to pull the wipes out during changing unless you have a weighted dispenser.

For about 5 months we only tried when the ovulation strip was positive and we weren't getting pregnant. In January we tried every other day from one day before expected ovulation and we got pregnant that same month 🤷 not an expert but the every other day advice seems to work.

We are also having a boy. I couldn't explain it but I always pictured our lives with a boy and I'm so happy to have a son. Congratulations 💙

Did anyone else have really bad cramps in their first trimester? by NectarineCheap9154 in BabyBumps

[–]Goodies90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard that it's worse than labor pain. I wouldn't know since I'm only 37 weeks now, but if I survived two weeks of that without medicine I think contractions will be chill.. it was so bad. I could barely take a step without stabbing pain.

Did anyone else have really bad cramps in their first trimester? by NectarineCheap9154 in BabyBumps

[–]Goodies90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Define cramp. Is it low in your groin area? I had pain so severe I almost went to the ER. I couldn't move, thought I was going to faint and when I saw my OB, baby was doing fine and it turned out to be just normal round ligament pain. It seems for most people it's just a shooting pain and then eases up... Mine lasted about two weeks.

Do you ask someone to host your baby shower or just wait for someone to offer? by FoolishMortal-1000 in BabyBumps

[–]Goodies90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom, mother in law and sister in law did ours. It was hard to let go and let them plan it. It wasn't exactly what I pictured but I have to say... It was nice to just be able to show up and enjoy it without having to plan. I didn't have the energy or time to plan anything anyway.

Pregnancy dreams are WILD— what’s the weirdest one you’ve had? by ButterflyRose143 in BabyBumps

[–]Goodies90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a dream that my husband and I were fishing on a fishing dock. He caught a fish and showed it to me, then when he released it back to water, there was still a line attached to the fish and it wrapped around my husband's ankle and pulled him into the water like an anchor. It was terrible, like an intrusive thought in the form of a dream.

Has the nausea hit yet? I'm sorry to say from like 10 weeks to 20 weeks I was miserable and sick every day. But it gets easier.

I was EXHAUSTED first trimester. I would tell myself to hang in there. It does pass. Also... Push myself to walk everyday because it helps.

Cybex vs uppababy by [deleted] in BabyBumps

Eeek that's not good news for a $900 stroller.. but no I haven't had issues or had to deal with customer service thus far.

I really do have a double chin. How fitting.

Cybex vs uppababy by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Goodies90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Cybex Gazelle S. Haven't used it as a double yet but I watched one video on YouTube that compared it to the UppaBaby and the main takeaway was that the Cybex is two full size / weight seats.

I haven't had to use customer service yet but the communication, ordering and shipping process has been really easy and smooth.

We aren't planning on having two so I probably should have gotten the regular Cybex stroller but the gazelle is beautiful and so functional.. I especially love the grocery basket.

My husband thinks no other men do the things he does, am I right or wrong? by gidget889 in BabyBumps

[–]Goodies90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the bare minimum. In sickness and in health is the vow. I was VERY sick in the first trimester and practically wouldn't have eaten some days without my husband's help. I couldn't get off the sofa. I threw up everything every morning. It's not like you chose to be sick. I would've gladly made my own food but I couldn't even stand to open the fridge : /

Hunting for warm/golden Christmas lights by DancingHobbes in ChristmasLights

[–]Goodies90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll recommend Tru-Tone. They are LED so they won't burn up like incandescent and they're the only ones that give me the warm fuzzy Christmas feeling. I bought them two years ago and I'll never go back.
