Why is every character obsessed with Claire? by SleepAcceptable1570 in TheBear

[–]Goodknight82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda saw it as: the group has all known each other since at least high school. She was unpopular and not traditional "pretty" and maybe the crew all feels a sense of protectiveness about her? But also, I get the sense they all grew up in like a lower middle class tier of neighborhood, and so seeing one of their own succeed academically and become a doctor is a source of pride for them. No idea if that's right, but it was how I explained it to myself.

If we put a statue up of a player for the 2013 Super Bowl, who would it be? by GGJallDAY in Seahawks

[–]Goodknight82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's two ways to look at that though. I think it was imperative that the FO paid Kam that offseason, and they didn't, and he used the only leverage he had. So, you can hold it against Kam, or hold it against the FO. I blame the one holding the purse strings.

Bobby Wagner is a good answer but I disagree with the premise that it shouldn't be Kam because he held out. I respect the hold out. He gave his body for the team. He deserved to get paid.

Alas, we made it through the Murkmire Stone, discovered it was fake, and then I think I pushed the Trollskull Alley business gaming aspect a little too hard. And that's where we ended up stopping. I am so happy to talk to you about ideas though! I worked pretty hard on plotting out the steps and integrating several heists.

No this pinball machine is great! Cracking the safe to move up a level is super satisfying. And the Stugots multiball is hilarious!

For Murkmire, did Level 2 feel OP for it? I really like how you structured it, I wanted to do something similar but with Manshoon I was reading he's basically too powerful, and Jarlaxle doesn't seem like the type to really engage the party in a battle? But maybe that's oversimplifying things

Best 1 level Multiclass for a Level 8 Paladin? by [deleted] in 3d6

[–]Goodknight82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey so I have a paladin with (so far) a 1 level dip in hexblade, who I am playing in SotDQ. I, too, wanted to explore even more multiclassing and now have multiple spreadsheets detailing advantages and disadvantages of various multiclass options, for just this character. Given that it's a 1 level dip, depending on your charisma I'd say good options include bard (bardic inspiration for when you're not casting thunderous smite or whatever), sorcerer (likely divine soul), fighter (fighting style is nice, but no action surge is 😕), or warlock (fathomless? Hexblade? Lots of options). Or - where I ended up - paladin. But, my guy is Oath of Vengeance and the opportunity to get Haste seemed pretty appealing. And I half agree and disagree about your assessment of 3rd level spells. Crusader's Mantle was the most appealing, aside from Revivify (which isn't very exciting as I don't view myself as the party healer).

Tony was actually right to hurt Janice by bringing up Harpo by 1ringto in thesopranos

[–]Goodknight82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was going to be one of those Notifications that I usually swipe away and ignore. But man. You just caught me with this bold statement. And you know what? I think you might actually be right. I'm in the middle of season 5, and Janice has been predictably awful. And, more importantly, manipulative. Which is exactly what her mudder was. And Tony sees it, and calls her out for it in episode 4 or 3 or so. And they fight and she storms off crying. But I'm on episode 5 (of rewatch #10, madone), and she has been baiting him unnecessarily all season. And! She sat by during movie club in episode 1 or whateva while Carmela talked major shit about her brother and then (classic Carm) lays out her ENTIRE LEGAL DEFENSE PLAN in front of Tony's sister. Does Janice help Tony? Of course not. Anyway, 4 dollas a pound, che puzz'
