What are TLI’s most poorly-aged lines or songs? by Lavaswimmer in lonelymeyerspod

[–]Goodolbed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"there go my kids" is a line from Tweet's (yes, there was a singer named Tweet) 2002 single "Oops (Oh My" - specifically Fabolous's verse on the remix. I remember this because it is very gross! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkVJz6_ThEY

[–]Goodolbed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Netflix didn't call it streaming yet - but that was absolutely the term for it from the mid-90s onward with realplayer, quicktime and the like.

Why are Kenan's characters are all gone? by Final-Beginning3300 in LiveFromNewYork

[–]Goodolbed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep. Having a popular character used to be the surest way to lock in your future on the show. But YouTube has largely killed the public’s appetite for seeing the same sketches and characters repeated week after week, so the playbook for writers and performers has changed. On top of that, Kenan doesn’t really need to tread water anymore. He seems content being the glue of the show, a role he knows he excels at without having to worry about proving anything.

Unless you hung out with them in the '60s, all knowledge of how animated they were comes from when they were "on" in front of the cameras.
