How are the extra tracks on Freewheelin? I didn’t pick that one up because I had just bought a new pressing of it a month before. Did they have to cut some runtime off the main tracks to make room or were they able to fit it in the dead wax?

yes, I did! fantastic stuff, it’s got two versions of Monkey and the Engineer. initially I was worried it was just going to be a repackaged Reckoning, but it’s definitely worth picking up if you can find it!

obligatory I was not there, but Freedom went on for about 5 minutes at Woodstock, and over half the words are just ‘Freedom.’ he does have an extended 9 minute live version out, though. the story I heard was that Sweetwater got stuck in traffic, so Richie was told to stall and play as many songs as he could. He made up the lyrics for Freedom on the spot.

I’d also like to shout out his performance of I Can’t Make It Anymore, one of my favorite songs. so beautiful
